I recall being impressed with the early bit of AC Rogue's water

Does anyone here remember Onimusha 2 for PS2? There is one segment in the story where you have to cross along a small waterfall and the depiction of running water completely blew me away at that time. That was in 2002.

Eeeeh, I prioritize performance over how things look (aka, I pretty much always have any available water effects set to off).
That said, I do have a screenshot from Borderlands 2 of a place which I thought looked pretty nice. I'd imagine the water would look much "nicer" if PhysX, the game's advanced liquid physics option, is enabled but my graphics card absolutely cannot handle it. :P

I'm surprised nobody mentioned Sea of Thieves. It has some of the best looking water and physics I've ever seen. The gameplay however looks incredibly dull

I've watched cliff terios who did some story episodes on it, it definitely looks like it will get dull after a couple of fights. It was always pretty much the same thing of we found someone, we either die or kill them repeat. Water is definitely nice though and you can feel the change when you jump into the water

Someone in the other thread mentioned Need For Speed. I think it was the original Test Drive that was the first driving game I played that had rain. Playing it back then I was so impressed that when you entered a tunnel the rain would stop.
Different times. lol

I found the water to be quite lovely to behold in Fallout 4. I took a bunch of screenshots, but I'm not sure any of them carried over when I installed Steam onto my new PC.

How did I forget to mention Submerged (of which someone already mentioned above)?!?
I have a LOT of screenshots on my Profile if you'd be interested in checking them out! :)

Yeah I've seen a couple of peoples games and its insane. I've only done 1 review and thats bcuz I was given the key but like i'm not great at talking so its way to much pressure. I cant imagine doing it with tiny games either, normally by the time I finish them its like huh did any of that actually go in did I like it?

seriously no mention of grand theft auto 5? too obvious i guess ¯\(ツ)/¯

also valheim. its beauty kinda lies in its simplicity, doesnt really shine on screenshots - better seen in gameplay. but damn impressive for a game with the size of 1gb.

I really need an Uncharted walking sim or narrative game (like LiS) in my life! The way it ended, its perfectly set up for a calm end to Nathan Drake's story before someone else picks up his gears. Definitely worth a watch, if not possible to play it. Really hope Sony brings the entire series to PC now that it's finally seen the conclusion and a new entry is reportedly in the works!

Er, I see that
One of the primary aspects of your group needs to be SteamGifts or gifting using our platform.
I thought that as long as most of the conversation was occurring here on SG, we met the firs requirement and we didn't need to have giveaways? So far, only a handful of comments have occurred on steam as opposed to here; we're primarily using steam as an image hosting site.
If the mods disagree; I can move this to #User-Projects or gasp create a giveaway once in a while. 🤔

I do feel like there is difference between Steam groups that come here to farm followers, and groups of SG people that are centered around some topic and then decide to make Steam group about it. Still, this distinction is subjective and we can't use it to allow some groups without GAs to be in Group Recruitment. As group recruitment purpose is clear - make it easier to find members for giveaway groups. Not "I like ketchup and digimons, come to enjoy my cat photos" groups. It's not advertisement place for random Steam groups, but board where people can say "I have idea for new giveaway group, come join me". Same reason why we don't allow promoting user social media in the forum, it's only allowed in the GA descriptions.
It would be easier if SG groups would be in-site functionality - you invite people to group that has nothing to do with Steam. But it's not :P

First off, this is inspired by this thread: https://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/cSW9i/water-analysis-reviewing-water-in-games-since-5pm and the fabulous Screen Archer's Guild!
As Poopman hasn't been online in a year, I doubt he'll mind my taking his idea and running with it. I was searching the SG Discord for it, without much luck. Rusty found that thread and told me I might as well make a group. So, here goes. Credit to him, Poopman, & SAG for the ideas, thanks to you all for the pictures!
The Group Link Yes, the name is awkward, but all of the good names/abbreviations combos were taken (at least the ones I could think of). So, PoBWiG it is.
If you are a fan of water in games--physics, graphics, the tossing (and turning? 😀) of the waves, the rain drops, etc, please check this group out. It is certainly a community effort. Nothing fancy, no rewards or awards, just a (hopefully) friendly group of people sharing pictures of games in which they enjoyed the looks or action of the water. Some love the calm, others love the spray of waterfalls or waves, still others love the reflections, or how a boat responds in the water. The group is open to all. No requirements or giveaways expected.
Please list games you own, have played, or have watched where you have enjoyed or been impressed with the water graphics or physics. Feel free to upload screenshots of these games!
Again, the only rules are 1) that you enjoyed the looks or physics of the water 2) No NSFW content allowed. 3) Please be nice to each other.
Thank you!!
I have zero intention to be a curator. If this changes (incredibly unlikely), I'll delete this line. 😂
The first two posts contains the lists here (so far), with other lists on Steam
