Wait what? You blacklist people for entering giveaways and not saying "thank you"? Do more people do that? I hardly ever say "thank you" because I find it useless and meaningless drivel and always thought people were doing it out of the notion that it increases your chances to win.
Stil great that you are doing giveaways, but personally I wouldn't feel entitled to a (usually meaningless) "thank you" for doing it.

Entering 100 give aways and saying "thank you" is not about thanking a person for his/her effort. It's going through the motions just for the heck of it so, in my eyes, useless and meaningless.
I do not think it has any sincerity attached to it anymore either if you as a contributor make it a 'procedure' and actually punish people for not following that 'procedure'.
When I give something away, I do it because I want to give something away without expecting anything back for it. If I want something back, it's not a giveaway anymore, but a trade. In my opinion that is.

I'm with you. I assume the thank you was implied when I entered. Plus, a million "thank yous" can hide actual thoughtful questions and comments.
If they ask for something in particular like "Favorite RPG?" I'll be more than happy to oblige as it requires some thought and I feel that it will actually be read.
All that being said, if and when I actually do win a game you can bet I will send the gifter a nice, personalized thank you message.

First of all i notice that you’ve registered 1 week ago so welcome to the community.
I hope you know that “comments” are not always “thank you” and i read all the comments people say which i appreciate it. i got to know a lot of good people from this community for their actions and responds in the community and that kind of people that keep me coming and contribute.
while it’s only take 1-2 second to enter a giveaway and 5 second to show your gratitude when you win it, it’s actually take sometimes hours, days, weeks and sometimes months + money for the contributors to bring you something for free out of their generosity.
personally I’m not looking for anything in return for my giveaway but i can’t stand people that enter giveaways and never said a word, and i have never created any blacklist but it’s about time.
So in the end you are not forced to do anything, you still can enter my giveaways and win them and receive them without saying anything, but you are just reserving your spot in my blacklist for future giveaways.

This is what I don't get: there are actually ungreatful bastards out there that don't even bother thanking you after receiving a gift? If that's the case, then by all means blacklist them away. They deserve it.
Anyhow, good luck with your giveaways. If you see me entering one, the comment will be a bit more than just "thanks".

I believe Koowluh is referring to people practically spamming thank you on the giveaway pages. Not referring to people who receive the gift and don't say "thank you." When I've won I've personally thanked each giver and strongly expressed my gratitude; however, I do not bother to post anything on the giveaway page unless the creator asks us to. It was quite disappointing making giveaways where the comments are 90% spam.
I suppose you could say they are thankful for the opportunity; however, if they truly were thankful, I'm sure they could come up with something other than repeating "thank you," "thanks," "thx," or "ty." It feels like they are just doing so to increase their post count. Not to mention the people that use scripts to post their "thanks" for them.
This is just my opinion, and I'm sure many users here do not feel the same way, while others do.

From what I've seen the majority of people that do say "thanks" etc on public giveaways are just scripts/bots anyway which in that case I'd rather them not post anything at all (they completely ignore any written description etc). For private giveaways it can make sense to at least say thanks, especially if it was some sort of epic puzzle setup that someones gone through the trouble of making, which there has been a few rather entertaining ones done on here.

How does it work, as even why I type a longer/more meaningful comment I still tend to end it with thanks or cheers.

I found it here - it's pretty straightforward, only hides comments that match completely. A comment consisting of "thx" is gone, but if they write "thxx" by accident it still shows up.
And it's just a text file, so you can change it to hide variations like "Cheers" for example. Good luck! :)

3 days ago I have reached:
Screenshot
So I decided to celebrate that with giveaways (trying hard to find an excuses to make a giveaway for you, close enough?)
Since this is a multiple of 11s, I will be adding 11 Giveaways every day for 3 days and set them all to end on 25/7, but due to reaching the limit of creating giveaways, I’ll be having some help of my friends.
19/7 1st day:
20/7 2nd day:
21/7 3rd day: (Since I have no slots left to make more giveaways i had to ask a friend for support, thanks puna i appreciate the help)
Notes:
Good Luck
P.S. I should get an achievement for activating 121 games in one day (show off) it was actually 222 games and wanted to use for this, but steam doesn't count keys. :(
