"Most violent game on steam?" or "What should I play?"

Hey everyone!

Today I just took off the cast on my wrist (after 4 months!!) so I want to play something... I've been playing mostly slow-paced/strategy games so I really want some over the top hyper violent game but I can't make up my mind! So please help me!

Here's what I'm looking for:

Super violent game;
Preferably an FPS;
No strategy, no caution, just simple "kill as much people as you can";
Preferably (but not exclusive to) from already owned games;

My ideas so far:

Serious Sam (I think I own all of them);
Painkiller;
Postal 2;
Duke Nukem Forever

So to wrap it up... After 4 months of not being able to play a well paced action game I want to play the most fast paced, violent and goriest game you can come up with! I don't want to play a shitty shooter, though... I just want something fun to turn my brain of and see red sprites all over the screen! I'm willing to purchase something but not looking forward to it!

Pleas help! ^_^

UPDATE: Uooohaa! I wasn't expecting so many replies! :o I was trying to reply to each and everyone but soon it became apparent it was a futile exercise! Anyway... Common suggestions seem to include Bulletstorm (it's a bit more expensive then what I'm willing to pay since I have so many great and untouched titles on my library) and a couple of games I already own on xbox (Jericho, Dead Space, etc). Also to those of you who suggests... Hotline Miami IS great but I managed to beat it with a broken wrist (not that I would recommend doing that)!

So the winner is the killing floor, Serious Sam and Painkiller. Simply because everyone says they're great and I already own them (no sense wasting money when Bioshock Infinite is so close)! Thank you very much for all your tips guys! =)

indeed, its good for a modern shooter, but if you want Serious sam goodness, you should stick to the original two

I tried Prototype when it was released and it really wasn't my cup of tea! Some people love it but somehow I'm not the biggest fan! Thanks, though.. =)

We must have a different definition of violent... Serious Sam and Painkiller werent too violent. not much blood or details in the gore.

Edit: I think I've heard Hard Reset is similar to SS/Painkiller in the sense you just shoot a whole bunch of monsters and not much else

I'm not as much looking for a offensive game as a violent one to blow some steam! Hard Reset looks pretty good actually, but I doubt my PC can handle all those effects! Adding it to my to-play list, though! =)

I've played it and didn't care for it much precisely because it was mindlessly violent. You just cruise around wrecking shit with a giant sword and throwing cars at motherfuckers. Not a lot else to it but it sounds up your alley.

n.b. the executions are brutal but not particularly gory

I was considering Dead Space but it's a bit slow paced and it freaks me out sometimes! I just want to kill stuff! ^_^

manhunt if u want a sick violent game, stealth elements in the game though if u run in your bound to get killed easily.

Last one but its not on steam could be soldier of fortune but there are many gory games. Augh i forgot i had a top 10 saved somewhere on my bookmarks ^^

Actually I have Dead Space and Jericho for the xbox. Jericho has so many off putting reviews I never gave it a go and I started Dead Space just before I broke my wrist! The thing is... Dead Space scares the shit out of me! :p

From what everybody says Bulletstorm sounds great but it's a bit over the price range I'm after (today I want mindless killing but I want to buy Bioshock infinite at launch) so I'll play the killing floor/serious sam now and Bulletstorm later! =)

If you play Painkiller, make sure you only get Painkiller: Black. The rest aren't very good.
Serious Sam is fun for what you describe.
Postal 2 is not fun.
Duke Nukem Forever is not fun.

I recommend:
Bulletstorm
Max Payne games
Hotline Miami
Killing Floor
Fear series
Darkness 2
Prototype 2 (not a great game, but viscerally thrilling)
Hard Reset (awesome in Serious Sam ways. I think I might even like it better)
