Had this with Black Ops 2, but it wouldn't let me run it at all :P took me to the store page instead.

What about using Saints row 4 without internet to never let update this game?

Hi guys, a while back i tried ace of spades on it's free weekend. When it finished i noticed that i still had the game files in my steam game folder and that if i ran the .exe file i could still play and that i was only unable to play days later when the developers released an update for it. As it's an online multiplayer game it makes sense i wouldn't be able to play. So, now comes the reason of this topic.
Has anyone ever noticed this same opportunity? after a free weekend have you been able to continue playing the game? was it a singleplayer or multiplayer? if you were able to go on playing did you receive anything from steam demanding you stop? do you reckon this would be possible? could they ban you for it? has it happened to you? do you know of someone that happened to be banned for it?
