Thanks for the Steam key.

I already owned Metro (bought on Steam store) but I somehow could activate the key.
But I don't have a second Metro entry in my library. Seems this key was wasted on me, sorry.

I'm pretty sure that Steam just tells you what the game is if you use a key for a game you already own without actually activating that key.

Normally yes, but this key is not for "Metro 2033 Retail", it's for "Metro 2033 December Giveaway".
My guess is they have different IDs.

Sometimes we give away games to whomever is in chat, if you've given away games to group members we'll put your name down for every $10 worth of games you've given. We've given away quite a lot of games in comparison to the amount of members we have really.
