Civ V Gold question

Greetings!

I have a question about Civilization V and Gold/GOTY editions in general. I already own the base game and a couple of DLC's for it (all on Steam, of course). What would happen if I bought the GOTY edition in addition to what I already have? Would the duplicates be available for me to gift/give away or would the "missing pieces" just be integrated into the copy I already have? I don't know if I expressed myself clearly.

You won't get any gifts in your inventory.

You will only get what you do not own. Only a select few bundles place any duplicate games into your inventory.

Don't get the gold edition. Buy just the upgrade to gold edition. You won't get extras copies of the dlcs you already have.

If you have base game it's better to buy Civ V gold edition upgrade.
