Space is noisy. Background radiation sounds like radio static (or country western depending on your perspective) and the rhythm of pulsars mixes with the grinds and whines of distant galaxies. So why did Valve spend billions developing their own radio telescope array on the moon that's 100% self-sufficient? Did they detect the presence of alien life or an impending asteroid disaster? Have they discovered that aliens prefer Hendrix over Garth? And what about the steam users? Surely they aren’t involved? Or are they?

it'd have to invade earth to do it. mars rovers are expensive. they just repainted the moon set and drove the thing around Arizona. more money left over to fall into sticky bureaucratic pockets that way. A regular earth ground squirrel wandered into their set and they didn't notice in time to pull the picture. Obama has a dim enough view of us he thought we'd believe if if they told us it was just our imaginations running away with a rock. and he was right for the most part. even most of those who see through his lies fall short of truth and assume something so outlandish as space squirrels.

You missed the point...boy are you smart. Since the announcement shows at 12AM PST, meaning it would be the 7th, there is only 4 time zones that would be considered to still be the 6th of October and all of those are Island (excluding Alaska). Now NASA most likely would use EST considering their HQ is located in that time zone, or they would use PST/GMT, and regardless of which one they'd use it would still be the 7th.

Not sure why I bothered explaining it to a smart guy like yourself...
