yeah i got access to the closed beta and it's pretty sweet of a game, and i actually think there's no competition to this game (to those that buy it, they'll get there money's worth). But i feel they wouldn't have left out if they went with B2P

I'm pretty sure there is an NDA.. But it is okay .. because you are talking about your unnamed friend that played the game.

I'm with you on this one. At least 12 months. The fanbase for Skyrim is pretty big for them not to gather in a good bit of subscribers for, at least, the first 6 months.

Yes, but you also have to remember that a lot of the people who played Skyrim, it was their first TES game (as shown by the fact that anyone supported the Stormcloaks, given the results that would happen if they won). On top of that, look at the stats. Only one third of players completed 10 sidequests (don't know the stats for consoles, but PC is where this MMO is going to be the biggest hit, most likely). A sad, sad number of people think they've "played" Skyrim after only ten hours in game. That doesn't bode well for an MMO, which is even more likely to suck up your lifespan.

Also this game is pretty cool and a COMPLETE TES experience tbh. So TES fans like me would enjoy it a lot more than casuals.

I'm not sold on that one yet. Honestly, a lot of it is sounding... off. I'm eager, but I'm also cautious. That way, I can be pleasantly surprised and not burnt like I was with Skyrim.

At least with pessimism, you can't be disappointed; and judging by what i've seen so far, disappointment is exactly what i'm in for. The whole "you can be a DPS healer" state of mind tells me they're hilariously unfamiliar with MMOs, or that they think they're pushing some kind of boundary -- neither is a good sign for a studio's first shot at a genre.

30 days? Even WoW gives you 60 days with a starter box. Paying around 40$ to play a game one month is stupid.

Yeah. i give it 1 year. I honestly hoped they'd go with B2P, but instead they went with this ):

Yeah because your attitudes certainly show maturity. Imho better to be stuck with 12 year olds for "free" than be stuck with elitist pricks and 12 year olds(wow is full of both categories and it has a monthly sub) and pay money for it. Also, any real TES fan will probably stay clear of TESO as it's missing a lot of what makes TES fun.

The Elder Scrolls is so much about modding for me, I can hardly picture ESO as is.

And meh, they'll find people to pay/play it, so it's not that much of a disadvantage for them.

Yeah, imo an mmo needs monthly sub for the updates (I mean real big content updates not tiny whatevers like in GW2). From now on we can only hope that it'll be good.

"A few days ago we had a poll on our website, asking our readers what upcoming MMO they crave the most. The vast majority (over 54 percent) voted for The Elder Scrolls Online."

Yes, that was before they knew about this...

I, for one, will not play it now, and I would have for sure, if it was the "Guild Wars" type of payment...

Most MMO companies still aren't fond of the B2P model, ArenaNet (and by extension NCsoft) have been the only ones (bar Funcom with The Secret World which started off with a P2P model) that truly believed in it from the start.
