Pretty sure that's the cheapest The Swapper has been, and it's damn good.

It says deals expire in 24 hours with new ones coming tomorrow. Since the entirety of their catalog seems to be on sale at the moment, I think it's a pretty safe assumption that they'll be expanding the catalog as the sale continues.

The $15 base price is the same, but right now it's on sale for $5 on the Humble store. I don't see any such discount on Steam.

[edit]: Ah, I see what you mean. I thought the last Steam sale was 50% off, not 66%. Still, it's $4.99 instead of the $5.09 it was on Steam, so you save a whole 10 cents! :P

I haven't played blacklist but far cry 3 was amazing. And AC series has been pretty rock solid for the most part. Besides it's not just about the games, Ubisoft has been very good to PC players as they are now going to be making their PC versions much more then console ports. Plus they're bringing the division to PC now which looks good. And they've shown they can still produce with new ideas like Watch Dogs. Sure they've been doing annual AC releases but It's not like they're doing annual generic military FPS releases every year plus another 50$ worth of map packs or "DLC" tacked on top.

Not to mention they are doing a lot with their presence in Montreal opening up a lot of new jobs for creative talent. Of all the big publishers Ubisoft deserves the most respect.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

You do realize that they need to pay for things like servers and bills and food and other stuff that people need to survive right? Do you realize how many people only pay $1 or just enough the bta? And then the amount they give to charity or the devs? They need some way to be able to feed their families and pay for things that they need. This is their job not their past time.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Since when to people do charity work to feed their families? Wasn't that the whole point of this website, selling games for charity? Do you do volunteer work to get paid? Don't they already keep a tip off all the sales? How can websites like groupees magically survive but humblebundle needs to set fixed BTA valueshigher than the BTA of all other sites of this kind or make a separate store to survive?

They are even listed on their own wikipedia page as a NPO, mayby they forgot about that.

Permalink

Seriously, this attitude pisses me off. I work in global development and trying to get funds is ridiculously difficult. The idea that non profits don't need money and don't need to pay their workers is laughable.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

As i said above, if they're looking to make money maybe they should get into another line of work. Considering how many bundles they sell and the fact that most people leave the default split even with dicks paying just 1$ they should be getting more than enough to maintain their servers. Turning a charity into a business, while legal, is in no way ethical and it's one of the reasons some people hate/stay away from charities to begin with.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

The site never used to be about charity. If it was, all the proceeds would go to charity. Humble Bundle always has been a for-profit organization, from the beggining.

Also, the slip on the bundles has always been 65% devs, 20% charity, 15% Humble Tip. But this is a store, and they need to have advantages for the devs, otherwise devs wouldnt see much point on going in there. The split is now 75% devs, 10% charity, 15% humble tip. The 10% of the charity has been taken to be able give devs enough of the split.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

No they have not, they'v listed themselves on their own wikipedia page that they link at the bottom of their website as an NON PROFIT ORGANISATION. Since when do people start NPOs to make money?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

"Since when do people start NPOs to make money?"

Oh, boy, do I have something to reveal to you...

That, and, well, think for a minute. The humble tip is 15% on the store. It has always been 15% as the default split on the bundles. This is the percentage they consider they need to mantain the site... since always. But they need to give more of the split to the devs because they sure as hell wouldnt sell on a site that would give them even less than steam. So they cut 10% of the charity to be able to give more 10% to charity.

And there is nothing wrong with it at all.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

The question was rhetorical(and sarcastic) and i was asking you since you claimed they were always a business. Why don't they drop their cut to 10% and give the 15% to charity. On the whole they would be getting a bigger tip anyway since this is a fixed price store not a pay what you want. From the outside it just looks like they're turning more into a store and less into a charity.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

can you get the point that they ALWAYS have took 15% as default its because they think that 15% its enough to cover their cost if you want to give more money to charity then donate directly and don't use Humble as an excuse

Does anyone know why the keys were removed exactly?

On topic. It's weird, seems HB took a page out of Indiegala's book. (Though doing it better because the games aren't garbage.)

Pretty pricey though. It kinda just feels more like steam deals. Also only 10% goes to charity? Yeesh... humble bundle really isn't very humble anymore..

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

10% seems just fine. If anything, it is too much. This is a store, not a bundle. They need to have advantages for the ones who want to sell there(they give 5% more than steam does to developers). They also, for the most part, have the drm-free versions of the games on their servers and they have to have money to, you know, pay for the servers, manuntention and etc. Furthermore, they always have been a for-profit organization that gives SOME money to charity.

And Humble Bundle actually gets the same percentage they always did.
