Came here expecting Trekkies, after I misread the title.
Trekking can be fun....especially if you boldly go where no man has gone before!

Trekkies is the name that the un-informed gave to the "Super Nerds" who were fans of Star Trek.
"Trekkors" was the chosen name of the original fans of Star Trek.
Unfortunately it's become so wide spread across the world over the last 20 years or so that even most fans now refer to themselves as Trekkies, and as such a common misnomer, like Native Americans being called "Indians" before people wised up and started getting it right,(seriously - India is on another damn continent people), it has become the standard.
Talk about peer pressure.

Haha......yeah, I still find it strange when I see Native Americans called Indians in older movies.......being Indian myself!
All Columbus' doing!

Cool! I have been on 2 treks over the past two years (both in the Himalayas). Maybe I'll update with a photo later :)

Just started doing some 1 day walks this year. I'm in England, and the Peak District is quite close to me. A little further afield is the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District is also doable in a 1 day trip. Have decent access to Northern Wales too.
Would like to get into longer stuff one day, and maybe get into the whole wild camping thing., but only after I've tried out and tested campsites first!
Nice album.

Hello, friends.
Had an amazing weekend trekking in Trigrad area, Rodopi mountains, Bulgaria. Tested some of my new gear, felt like a stalking sniper on some occasions and decided to give you a week long chance for a similar experience.
I love sort of a "harder" terrain, but he casual slopes of Rodopi gave me a great starter for the summer season. Starting with the climb into Haramliiska cave, following the Chairska river and culminating on the Eagle eye on the Saint Ilia peak. If you like Hiking and/or Trekking or somewhat beautiful amateur landscape photography take a look at my weekend album.
If you have any questions for a great locations or routs in Bulgaria, don't hesitate to ask.
Cheers and have a great summer!
My first topic and invite only GA. Please be gentle.
