11.99€ (-40% off) if you have 20% Choice Discount on Humble Bundle.
I still feel it's a bit too much, may wait for a possible 50-65% in the summer sales.

Oh, thanks! I didn't check that, it's 12,44€ for me since I'm on the 17% discount tier (I paused once like 9 months ago, it takes a year to go back to the 20% discount tier).

EDIT: Since the DLC will be available until late November I think it's a good idea to follow your advice and wait for a better sale in the next months 😊

As far as I understand, this dlc is not permanent? does it seem to disappear in the fall?

Download will no longer be available after the distribution period.
If already downloaded, the DLC can be played even after the distribution period ends.
If downloaded during the distribution period, the DLC can still be deleted and reinstalled after the period ends.

Distribution period will end at fall (November 23) but you will be able to play it even after that.

Cheaper licensing expenses? But yes, could also be FOMO tactic.

The game has sold a lot and received a lot of recognition. It doesn't need these tactics to be relevant.

Licenses are managed by time. This is why many games have temporary events. It makes no sense to see it as a strategy considering 1 that it is a free DLC, 2 the first DLC does not apply the same.

Surprisingly, Godzilla has a second wind of great popularity due to the monsterverse movies, so its licenses are expensive again.

This is a game I would like to play, but don't currently own, so Steam won't let me claim the DLC.

Does anyone know if this can be claimed somehow outside of Steam or is it locked in a way that won't allow you to get it if you don't own the game? I remember people posting ways to claim items like this outside of Steam, but I don't remember how to do it or if it is possible with something like this.

Edit: In another thread just created for a free game, they put this at the end "!addlicense ASF s/". I don't know how to use that because I have never used Archi Steam Farm, but that is one of the things I was talking about. I'm guessing this is locked down in a way that won't allow it to be claimed if you don't own the game, but I just though I would ask since I don't know how to test it myself.

In theory if you buy the game vi Steam, get the DLC, refund the game and get your money back. When you buy the game in the future the DLC should be yours to reconnect to your game purchase.

I've not tried it, but that's the theory.

That sounds like it might work, but I have never returned a game on Steam and don't really want to do it just to get the DLC. I was just curious if maybe it was only locked in the Steam store and if activating by some other means could get around it, like using ASF or maybe some command in the Steam console (I'm not even sure if you can activate games through the console).

The name Godzilla is used, there are lawyers all over this.

Either buy the game and get the DLC before the allocated timeslot is gone or don't. Refund the game with the idea of buying it again if you want but that seems to be the only legitimate way to have access to the content after November 23rd.

They might put it all into an Ultimate GOTY edition later but they'll lose cred as a developer for yanking chains with time limits if that's the case.

I'm not that worried about it, I was just curious if there was an easy workaround to get it. If I can't get it without owning the game, I'm sure I will be happy with the base game like so many others that have already played it.

you think they would lose credibility? did you see what all the other publishers and devs are doing nowadays? this is the least problem you could think about. they are giving their dlcs away for free...

To those who are skeptical to get DAVE THE DIVER just not to miss this DLC:

It doesn’t matter. Get it because it’s an amazing game either way!
