Just a quick question about Alan Wake.

The Collector's Edition includes: Developer Commentary videos, illustrated PDF book and soundtrack.

Seems like the game + extra (click on "view this game on steam" link at the bottom ) but it's not clear.

Based on the price, USD$8.75 at 75% off, it is most assuredly the main game with the 'Collectors Edition' content, including the special Episodes 'The Signal' and 'The Writer.

Collector's Edition is the game + extras.

edit : to answer your question, the base game is included, of course.

I was just asking because the base game is included in the website as well, which is priced a pound less, without the extras in the "Collector's Edition"
