Hey there people, some relatives of mine will be in the USA for the next month, so I was wondering what I can have them bring to me from there, that is actually worth buying. Some stuff is cheaper there than in Europe (especially electronics) so I was wondering what things I could order them to bring me. Bare in mind that it should be easily transferable in a baggage :P

Nope there is no hidden giveaway here, sorry

Have you ever visited USA?

Dude, I live there..
Yeah, I've been there!
No and I don't plan to
No, but I might some day...

You can buy some M&M's almond, they are hard to find in my place. I can't see anything else, USA are no longer what they used to be. Maybe you could get a gun.

Edit : I forgot I bought once, in NY, some bottles of aunt jemima, it's a cheap fake mapple syrup made with corn syrup. It's not bad actually.

Whatever they buy, make sure it's in the colors of the American flag, it has an eagle on it and "God bless America" written in a huge font. Might throw a gun or two in there as well 🇺🇸

I could have made a joke about AIDS, but no. I think that the best thing you couls get from there are some medication, which you cannot dind anywhere in Europe. Some of it are legit good. (No joke, might come in handy one day :/ )

I suspect there might be some restriction on some of those, which might get him in trouble.

Not all of them, but most of it is restricted in Europe. Yeah, have to be careful with that

I'd say go with small electronics, accessories and clothing. I know some people that also got laptops but, for me, it's more of a hassle.

Be careful of customs and being able to use what you buy (adaptors, region 1 dvd readers, etc..)

Most newer small communication electronics have 110-240 v support, you just need a different outlet plug. Some older things (let's say for kitchen, or a curling iron and so on) need a real power converter.

Remember import taxes, customs and VAT.
Don't try to get them to smuggle them past. Not only will that mean a huge fine, it may even mean the goods being destroyed and/or be a criminal offense.
And you'll have probably no warranty or guarantees for electronic products.
Edit: Also CE conformity regulations.

Melatonin. Great for jet lag, mostly. Usually not easily available (or at all) in most European pharmacies, as far as I know.

Yo, British person who lived in the USA for three years here, how ya doin'. Want some snack recommendations?

  • Flamin' Hot Cheetos, they are AMAZING! Eat them with disposable gloves though, they stain fingers and clothes really badly.
  • Warhead candy. It's extremely sour! I especially like the sour sprays.
  • America has a ridiculous amount of poptart flavours. Flavours you wouldn't even dream of. My favourite whilst I lived there was a limited edition pink lemonade flavour.
  • If they're visiting the south, there's a soda called Cheerwine available. Kind of like Dr. Pepper. Authentic old-style cream soda is really nice too.

Will add any more if I think of them.
