Ok so I got 2 20 steam wallet cards, so what should I get?

Should I just buy games or buy keys for trading?
What kinds of games should I get?
what kinds of keys do people want more, CSGO or TF2?
Thanks

Buy games, naturally.

Unless there is already something you want to play now or you have nothing to play, wait for sales and buy games directly.

CSGO Keys seem to be wanted more as in, some people value tf2 keys lower.
And I couldn't recommend anything that is similar to Garry's mod, but I'm not an expert ;)

I never got the point of trading keys. So I can't say to get them or not.

But I'm in the same boat. I have a sizable steam wallet from Christmas gift cards. My strategy has been (since December) to wait for Steam Sales to drop the prices of the games on my wishlist down to less than $10. Why on Earth would you purchase a game at full price when you can get it 50% - 80% off in a couple months?

Since Christmas, the only games I bought were at least 50% off at the time.

One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

I actually admire The Great Shark Hunt more - that is the masterpiece.
Err... Now that I think of this... I guess, I have a sudden urge to re-read all the Thompson's books :D Well, neither the first nor the last time)

I'm just playing the first Quake singeplayer. I find it quite fun.
But 9,99€ is A LOT for a game that doesn't run on Windows 7 without a source port and doesn't have the music included.
If you can fix those problems, like i did (and it's not that hard), it's pretty great! A neat, fast paced, first person shooter.

Add a few private accounts, click their links and ask them :P jk Buy what you want. If we tell you what to buy, it's our own subjective recommendation. Maybe it doesn't even match with your preferences. If you are unsure what to buy, keep those gift cards later, or if you have activated them already, buy TF 2/CS GO/Dota 2 keys. They will be tradable by the Summer Sale, and that is the biggest event in the year. You can get a ton of games for cheap. Even with 40$, you can get a lot of things.

Unless you want something that's no longer on sale and can't wait for the next one, don't bother with trading. You'd be better off letting the money in your wallet and wait for a good sale on a game you're actually interested in.

As for recommendations, it all depends on what you like. I could say, look at my wishlist and buy yourself those games, but that's my personal preference, not yours.

Since there's no cheaper regions anymore getting keys from the market is like throwing money away on fees you'd be better off waiting for a game you like to go on sale.

@zomby2D would you mind coming online for a minute?

Well all the games i have was trading Keys i got like 300 games and i just spend more than $10USD.

Trading Keys for games is more cheap. And yet you can still find some cheap ROW gifts in steamtrades

It seems you didn't bother to check my rep :P
I'm not saying trading is completely useless, i'm saying that if you have wallet funds you might as well get the game in steam yourself once it's on sale, OP isn't looking to trade games or to sell them he just has wallet funds he wants to use, buying keys on the market at $2,60 or so is just a HUGE loss, I should know I sell them for $1,85.
If you take that into account + the fact that no trader will sell trade you a game for it's sales price OP is just better off getting it himself.

I heard a lot of good things about borderland, some people say it's open world like Antrim or fallout, is it?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It's openish world. If you take a lootbased dungeon crawler like Diablo/Torchlight/Fate and turn it into an FPS, you get something like Borderlands. Maybe it's better in co-op, but I'm not a fan of either game. They're too boring for me.
