yes i just did that and now i have all my remaining months upgraded to ultimate + 2 extra months , and you can keep extending the ultimate subscription after that up to 3 years for 1$/mo :D . i'm currently on 3 years of ultimate just by doing that

Why would you want to do that? Ultimate includes the normal pass, so I don't see the benefit of going back :)

once the ultimate expires you will have the choice to extend just the pc game pass , just cancel the auto-renewal and wait :p

I don't like grey markets but I bought my Windows 10 and Microsoft Office there, Windows 10 Pro is about 2.5 Euro in some of grey markets.

if you have a windows 7 code, and a thumb drive with the windows 10 media creation software on it (which is downloadable for free from microsoft), just use that to gain windows 10 - I just rebuilt my ageing computer and decided to install windows 10 (which hurt somewaht as I love windows 7 still) and just used my old windows 7 code when it asked for one during the install :) installed and licenced with MS fine :) (google shows this as still being a viable way of upgrading, largely because MS want us all to be their drones badly :P) - Not that I am using this $5 deal though, as I have too many games on steam already and no time to play even those :(

Xbox application for PC demands Windows version 1903, unfortunately i cannot update to it because my pc is not compatible according to Microsoft.. Should i force install 1903 or just trust Microsoft and wait? I dont want to struggle with Windows if i force install and there happens a problem.

Honestly, 50/50 chance of it bricking your PC or working perfectly fine. There's just no way to know.
If you really wanted to try you could grab a blank drive and install it on there first. If everything works, repeat on your main drive. Of course, make sure you've got everything backed up first.

On April 2019, Windows 10 Corrupted my Internal Hard Drive's twice, managed to fix them and recover some data, not all sadly, with the help of my Windows 7 partition that didn't got corrupted(Thank God for that) because Windows 10 couldn't fix it. Tried newest Version of Windows 10 today fresh install and everything and again Windows 10 corrupted 1 of my HDD. :l

Did that to two of my HDD as well back in '16. What solved it for me was installing Intel Rapid Share Technology and editing some stuff pertaining to HDD in the power plan. Don't know if it would still work now but since then I haven't had any HDD issue with Windows 10 (hopefully I didn't jinx it)

It's a good deal if you want to play some AAA games, otherwise I already have many of them on Steam.. not enough time, but been playing a few of the smaller titles. Would never buy a pass on normal price though, it's enough to buy the actual games I want.

I've got 7 months of Ultimate right now, paid a whopping $3.39. Playing State of Decay 2 atm, enjoying it. Quite a few other games on it I hope to play as well. Day 1 access to Outer Worlds will be nice too.

does it work if you do it like i do with origin games ? i just add the origin shortcut to my non-steam games and then rename it to one of EA's games (battlefield 1 for instance) and add the same shortcut again and name it after another game and so on . then when i want to play that one origin game and let my friends on steam know i'm in it i just start the origin shortcut i added that i named after that said game and then the overlay will work just fine :D . requires some work but it's the only way that works lol sin e adding games will desactivate the steam overlay as soon as the game starts

All Steam competitors link fine, from GOG, Uplay, Origin, Epic. It's just the Xbox games which have encrypted files and more nonsense than it's worth the hassle to link them on Steam.

Thanks for the suggestion even if Steam controller isn't what I wanted from the Overlay itself. I just wish for a simple way to link all my screenshots and upload them on Steam, even if the game in question came from another platform.

Nice one..i bought the Xbox PC pass 3,99€ for 3 month..got one month for free..than i added my 3 month free from AMD offer got one month for free.... i activated the one month free from Alienware got also one month free and now bought the Ultimate offer 2 month for 2€ so i got Ultimate now till 26.07.2020.... nearly one year for only paying 6€ :)

Unfortunately, I think have to pass on this deal since it needs Win10. Namely, I recently tried clean installing Windows 10 on my laptop (had Win7 before), and it made everything slow to a crawl, even with nothing else installed. I updated my drivers, BIOS, and everything -- still get several seconds lag just opening Windows Explorer. Literally everything runs so slow that I am seriously doubting "upgrading" my beloved (gaming) desktop to such a horrible OS. I also read that the latest Win10 update 1903 is known to cause lag issues on some machines, and nobody knows how to fix it. Going to try another clean install just in case the order matters on upgrading BIOS and installing Win10, though my hopes are still low. If anyone knows how to fix this insane lag issue, please let me know!

Few pieces of advice for people new to this racket:
- There is/was a promo going on when you redeem a code, they would offer a free month of Game Pass if you turned on automatic billing, this time was just added on to any existing time. You could use this promo to get a free month with every code you redeem. (as in, redeem a 7 day code, agree to automatic billing, get a free 30 day extension on top of the 7 days, repeat, repeat, repeat)
- If you upgrade to Game Pass Ultimate, this promo goes away :(
- Upgrading to the Game Pass Ultimate offer will upgrade all existing time on your account to Ultimate though
- Once you've upgraded to Ultimate, all the codes floating around from promos and giveaways that are not for Ultimate specificly will redeem for a reduced amount of time
