About 60-65 percent are bundle games.
10-15 percent are fake giveaways.
20-25 percent are actual given games.
3-5 percent are dlc.
How sad do you feel about this?

Woah, what in the world happened on October 4th, 2012? There's 30 times as high a value of giveaways as the previous day. My only guess was the Humble THQ Bundle, but that wasn't until a month later...

Maybe, but there was the huge one for Galactic Arms Race (which I think is responsible for the second biggest spike in January 2013). Could there have been a developer giveaway about twice as big as that one? O_O

I have heard that back in the murky past, bundle game giveaways were banned completely; maybe that was the day they were brought back and a bunch of people gave away all the spare keys they had saved up...?

40% of those are a lie. It's easy when mostly 32% of the people do that. I mean, we couldn't get the 23% of the 40% if most of that people (in this case, 26%) didn't do that.

I don't care much about games too. I have all the games I want. I only enter for games I am genuinely interested in putting time.

Most people that joined around my team have double to triple my entries.

Some of the community is also nice, but sadly the rest are interested in profiting off this site (win keys and sell them).

Win keys and sell them? For how long are they gonna do that before they get suspended?
So, only a minority is nice, but all the rest are pirates, lamers and so on.
Interesting...

Nah, people are committing technical piracy by giving away bundled games, so I don't count them.

Unlike you though, I donate my money for the charity and keep the games for myself because they are for myself and I don't break TOS agreements that I make.

There's a gift option when you buy a bundle, you know...

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

But the keys people give away here obviously aren't from the gift option eh?

They are individually given, rather than an email.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yes for the majority but that alone doesn't make it 100%. You take things for granted and that's a wrong approach.
Also, every given away game is an actual game.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Not if they are doing it in a way of committing piracy. Any games gained through piracy aren't legal copies, so they can't be counted.

Permalink

Pirated or not still makes it a game. Legit or non legit is what you're trying to say, but I understand your point.

Saying it is piracy doesn't actually make it piracy, especially since not all the bundles have the same "rules"

Do you have a source for these numbers?

Looking at the database, 1.6% are not received. This includes feedback from giveaways we've deleted. If you want to include fake giveaways that we deleted before closing, this number would skyrocket to 1.7%. If you focus on recent months, this number is on the decline, closer to 1.0%. This is a long ways from your estimated 10 - 15%.
