Pay it Forward

I've been kicking around a thought in my head for quite a while now, and here's the end result. Before you, is a table of GA's. Trains are overrated. So much clicking, and you never know what you're getting yourself into. I'mma bring the table into the mainstream for the benefit of all I tell you what

For each GA you enter, you will commit to a week of small generosities. That is, a minimum of once a day, you will go out of your way to help somebody else. It doesn't have to cost much, nor involve much effort or time. You could buy the coffee for the person behind you in line, bring home flowers for your significant other for no particular reason, or just be there to talk when somebody is down, particularly if you might not have otherwise. I ask that you fully commit to these tasks. Go ahead and mark it on your calendar, don't push it to the back of your mind, particularly if you're the type to say "I do that already", even if you do. There's always that little bit extra you could be doing. With luck, a small act of kindness can propagate forward, and with enough of them, can change the world. Be what changed the world. Tell nobody you don't have to that you did these things. Humility is an attribute there is far too little of in this world.

For each GA you WIN, I'm asking that you pay it forward in two occasions/two people in some relatively significant fashion. Helping for a day at your local food shelter, choose to be late for work and assist the stranded motorist by the highway instead or driving by, whatever floats your boat. Instead of taking any reward for these actions yourself should they be offered, instead insist that the receiver then pay it forward to somebody else instead, at their own time and ability.

Now, I know, there are some of you thinking "but the Guidelines says

-You cannot ask users to perform any special action in order for their entry to be considered valid-!

I know. I obviously have no way of checking whether an entrant has completed these tasks, nor do I have any desire to. I will send the keys no matter what, nor will I blacklist them upon somehow discovering they completed nothing.

If somebody else wishes to post their own GA as you guys are wont to do. It's not expected however, I will update my table once a week. I will close the thread when my last GA ends, unless others have been added. After all, we are never alone

Big Batch GA's sent. Re-rolls incoming shortly.

Figured I'd write it here rather than writing it several times elsewhere, so this will be the last time I will reply about such matters here, as I do not wish to muddle this throughout.

The following are the only reasons I blacklist somebody.
-Consistent lack of any thanks after having won a GA. It doesn't have to be mine. When I check my winners and see that you have 3 comments, and 60 GA's won, I draw the conclusion that you do not find it worth your time to type a simple thank you.

-Use of an auto-enter script. While not against the rules, I find that using them is in bad taste.

-Rudeness towards other users in forums. Once again, this does not have to be directed towards me. The most common reason being perhaps being mean, rude, childish, or disrespectful towards new users, particularly when the 100th "how do I win" thread pops up, or the calling out of "fake" GA's. Give people the benefit of the doubt. In fact, there was a recent 3 copy GTA 5 GA by a brand new user promoting his (youtube? Twitch?) channel that followed through. I don't take kindly to a superiority complex either, though I don't think there are more than 2-3 of those.

-Flagrant disregard of site rules. This is not for those that, through ignorance, broke a site rule, but for those that know what they are doing, and continued to do so anyways.

-Vast majority of group GA's/group real CV to really small ~like, average entries <20 small) groups while entering public GA's A few level 9-10 users would only be level 3-4 if their group CV didn't count. That is not to say I think they are breaking any rules, but I'd rather my high level public GA's don't go to somebody not contributing to the larger community as a whole. I'll often let those people through for a bit to enter my invite only GA's, as those are only forum ones anyhow.

If I have blacklisted you, it is for one of these reasons, and one of these reasons alone. No, I do not remember why i blacklisted you as a person. Unfortunately, I do not have the memory of an elephant and I would forget my head if it wasn't attached to me. It 's not meant as a personal slight, nor does it mean I don't like you as a person even. All that it means is that when I purchase, using my hard earned money, a game to give away, I would prefer it to not go towards a person with those kind of qualities. You are obviously free to blacklist me back. It does not hurt my feelings in the slightest. I understand you just wish the games that you give away go to somebody else as well, and I respect that.

I understand that everyone, myself included, have lapses in judgement, we say or type things we might not have otherwise, we have a hard day at work, our car breaks down 50 miles from home, and your hours are being cut down, just as you get more expenses welcome to my last Friday, or maybe the chronic pain you experience is worse today than it has been in years. We snap, rush to judgement, and overall make somebody else s' day worse for it. I have had a number of users in the past contact me and respectfully inquired about the reasons for a blacklist. Nearly all of those people immediately come off of it, and some right on my very small whitelist because it was clear that it was a momentary lapse in judgement at the time, or them being repentant and nothing more. Asking or commenting petulantly in whatever medium, particularly those of you which make your voices heard over and over, certainly does not have the same result. Just a side not here, but a message left directly on my steam profile does nothing, particularly since I don't have access to your steamgifts profile.

I'm with you, I don't fall under any of these and am blacklisted. Some people simply make no sense.
If you really don't remember why you blacklisted someone, give them the benefit of the doubt.

Someone who truly deserves to be blacklisted will most likely stand out and / or eventually be banned from this website.

As i told u already , hes a special child in a sense ...

I am almost sure why i got blacklisted by him , and it literally had NOTHING to do with him at all , it was just an argument between me and a guy which escalated ... a bit to much .

While i do agree that i may not have been right calling him Pile of garbage and stuff , i dont think that has ANYTHING to do with this guy .

But ofc , as a proud SJW he feels the need to blacklist everyone who offends anyone ... its his right . free world etc etc...

Just ignore him , as i do most of times and you will be fine tbh :)
Your time here will be much more enjoyable if you do

ust for the record i dont mean that as starting a flame war or anything >.>

That just sounds bad and might get you blacklisted more. =/

I dont really care ... i tell people what i think about them :)
If someone want to blacklist me for that , hes free to do so .

I dont mind getting blacklisted for stupid reasons , i hardly care about them at this point , its just hes acting as a complete hypocrite trying to justify why he blacklists people with some SJW arguments >.>

Hi to the 8 ppl who felt offended in any way even tho this comment had nothing to do with them , and felt the need to blacklist me :0

I haven't blacklisted you, but the reason others have might have to do with the amount of times you use terms like "SJW".

Don't get me wrong, I'm totally ok with that. That's your GAs and your rules and I respect that.

I'd never blacklist anyone for that unless they have a 0 in their "Gifts Sent" and have been here for a while.
For instance if you've won 10 giveaways, and have sent 0, you probably deserve it.

Sorry, I thought I got all of you guys out of there. I haven't done that for a long time and thought I weeded everybody for that reason out of there. I did indeed used to that in the past for those higher than like 70 or 80-1, but I stopped. Better late than never, feel free to try again.

I skim T.O.S's to make sure I'm not giving away the soul of my firstborn or such mostly privacy concerns, but rarely do I go into the nitty-gritty.

Naw, I'm talking much more severe than that.
Real public CV sent-661.49 $ (level 6)
Real public CV won- 163.25 $

That's not looking at your private GA's, which (usually, but not always) are posted on the forum here in some way.
Real private sent-1,129.70 (level 7)

There are four games on your list that I would like to enter. But that means four weeks of not being a jerk. That's almost a whole month! An entire non-jerk month.

I'm not sure if I'm capable of that, so I haven't entered any yet. I'll have to think about this.

Alright, I'll settle on three of them. I can go three weeks as a nice guy, right? Four might be too much, but three.... three is do-able.

Try entering again. I'm removing most people I added over a year ago, just in case I was more liberal than I am now, since I was aware of at least 1 person i wanted off of it.

Neat idea, thanks for setting this up. It would be awesome to see the winners (or anyone with their nice weeks) come back to share what they've done differently.

I know that goes against your 'tell nobody' ideal but sharing could inspire others <shrug>
