Are you jealous of new regional prices set for other countries but not yours?
That's great - I heard from a lot of people that they would have to pay much much more for games in their country than other countries. I hope this levels the playing field and makes it more fair for everyone - everyone's paying their equivalent.

True that. But it has also created unbalance between games. Most of the games are still at their original prices while a few have gone down a lot. Now it is almost uncertain if I want to buy for a high price. I might even wait for the winter sale because if sleeping dogs can get so low with both regional prices and sale making it only $1.57 then there will probably be other games which will have very low price on winter sale too.

Buying a few suitable games to keep me busy sounds about right. Buying nothing in winter sale but waiting whole year for the summer sale asks for too much waiting. But you're right, about that time all prices will be normalized.

Sleeping Dogs. Terrific game and for a great price too.

I might be wrong here ofc but game prices are probably worst there i'm from. I'm from 'poorer' part of Europe if you will so we do pay same as everyone else does but compared to minimum and average income of my country game prices are ludicrous.

insert "i feel you bro.gif" here
I'm from Turkey and probably here is 'more' poorer than ur country ii'm talking about in the terms of "purchasing power". Last night i was checking some bethesda games last night. Dishonored 2/outsider and new colossus (all versions of them) were the most expensive comparing others (usa, eu, uk... even standard prices of russia&brazil were half!). Wtf! An Us resident could buy any decent AAA game for 60$, they even dont allow us to buy for 60$!!! Now im on mobile, tonight i may add caps or may create a new thread. For the moment i just wanna say, with this fcking pricing system i feel ripped and fcked, nothing less...

It was same before euro so nothing to thank about.
Comment has been collapsed.
Well, without euro, games would cost more in richer countries.

I wrote a long answer but it disappeared as I posted it. Oh well.
I understand why publishers can set different prices in different regions (you can't resell the game outside of the region, or at least you have many restrictions), but I don't understand why they should set the same price for very different countries, even if they share the same currency or not.
Please keep your own currency and leave Euro where it is. It won't last much anyway.

Here in Italy there is so much pro-euro and pro-eu propaganda (psychological terrorism, I would say), almost all media are lined up with this stuff. I love my country, I really hope that next year prople will vote to change things. I hoped for a Le Pen + Mélenchon government in France that could facilitate things, but now we need to do it on our own. If Italians will vote for the status quo, well, then I'll seriously consider going somewhere else. I don't want to die unemployed.
Maybe in Česko :D if you accept me

We didnt get many economic migrants (unlike you, Germany or France) because wages and welfare suck here. However skilled labour is always welcome :-D ... the unemployment is below 5 % now and companies are always looking for new workers... but who would want to earn around 600 Euros a month eh?
Comment has been collapsed.
If I were a skilled worker, I would probably have an employment here :P
Point is, very skilled people emigrating is ok, because maybe the industry that needs those people is only in a few places in the world. But when goons like me have to emigrate, a government has really failed something.
Wikipedia says Italy is 34th in the world for PPP average income, while Czechia is 38th. It's not much different 600€ there or 1200€ here. At least, you have very low unemployment rate, which means, as you said, that companies are always looking for workers. It used to be the same here until twenty years ago. Now, instead, for every single job there are hundreds of candidates (thousands for some).

They are not, don't worry. My country's standard is much lower and we also have 'normal' prices. I remember good old times when trading with Russians was an option. Played Rayman Legends on release day and was so happy. Got preorder for 7 TF2 keys which included Rayman Origins. It was a really nice feeling playing a game right away, now it is only bundles and deep deep sales.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yes most probably but might wait for winter sale, who knows the sale and the regional price would make it even lower than $19.9 xD

I think its only for a few countries of Asia but I'm not sure about others.
Comment has been collapsed.
The reduced prices (but still in USD) for a few asian countries were rolled first.
But for the other countries that will get their own currency the change will come "soon", so most of us have to wait and hope that they go live before christmas.

According to the leaked email to developers, currencies are supposed to go live for the Autumn Steam Sale which will start on November 22

EDIT: These are Halloween sale pricing which I mistook for regional pricing

Just Cause 3 | -75% | |
Valley | -75% | |
The Room Two | -90% | |
Euro Truck Simulator | -90%
Left 4 Dead Bundle | -85% | |
Crypt of the NecroDancer | -80%
Trine 2: Complete Story | -85%
Shelter Complete Edition | -85% |

Uhmm, these are halloween sale discounts, I think everyone can see these discounts wherever they are. This thread is about regional price discounts set in a few parts of asia having lower prices even without having sales. Thanks for the table though, it might help someone anyway.

I gifted my friend that game a year ago and he complained about game crashes that's why I didn't get it for myself. But I might buy it coz of the low price :)

Greece has shitty european prices. We want regional prices too. Give us back our old drachma currency. Or at least make a Tier 2 for Europe again! xD
Comment has been collapsed.
Exactly. They think we all have the same wages and expenses as Germans. xD
Comment has been collapsed.
This won't happen, I'm not 100% sure so don't quote me on that, but if steam allows cheaper prices in Greece or Romania or whatever, every European according to law should be able to buy in Greece, Romania or whatever (and pay less)
I doubt publishers are ok with that, so, no, it's not going to happen

I'm just here because your avatar drew my attention. I don't know your preferences but in your place I might go for Nier Automata.

Digital Devil Saga one of my favorite game of all time! Still remember beating the demi-fiend on a 100th try xD

I love the whole series, but DDS is my all-time favorite... but I still didn't beat the demi-fiend. ;-;

+1. Regional pricing is evil. "Oh you live in Western Europe? There, that will be $200 for Fallout 3 please." 🙄
Comment has been collapsed.
Jealous? How about this:
I lived in Brazil for about 5 years, which has sensible regional pricing to fit an average Brazilian salary. But then I moved to Europe, and my store is still locked in with the Brazilian regional prices. So I'm now earning a typical European salary, and paying Brazilian prices.
Shower me in your jealous tears!

Ok now I'm jelly. :P
But looking at the bright side, we have $682.2 per capita income, i.e $56.85 per month... less than many AAA game price. At least Valve included us in regional area. I am hoping at least we can afford some games(not AAA) during the sales.
