How long does it take to get a new winner?

I requested a new winner for one of my giveaways quite some time ago and haven't heard anything yet. This is the first time I've ever had to do this and was just wondering if anyone knows how long it usually takes. Thanks

What is "some time ago"? Mine took around a day, I don't think it takes much longer.
