UO's subscription is way overpriced, and people in 2015 are very skeptical about paying a monthly subscription. UO is sustained by nostalgia and nothing else, and honestly I'm amazed to see it got greenlighted.

I recently saw a boxed copy of Ultima Online (there are many versions of them) with a month's subsription and the now-legendary "trinkets" (items that exist in-game), such as maps, medallions, and cloths.
I mean, how many games come with such a novelty (trinkets).....it's like having an amiibo with each retail copy of a Wii U game.
Should I get one, in your honest opinion?

Both GOG and Origin (alternatives to Steam) carry the entire Ultima series. But Steam does not. Why is this?
I already own Ultima 7 & 8 complete on Origin (snagged them both for free).
However, Ultima Online has been Greenlighted on Steam. It is notable for being the grandfather of MMORPG, originally released in '97. It will come with a monthly subscription, surprising for its small player community (on official servers. The unofficial servers are a quite a mess, admittedly).
Another game matching Ultima in age, called "Wizardry", is on Steam. You can buy the final saga (and farewell) of the series in a single pack.
