Weekend Deal - Hitman Absolution 75% OFF

So Steam just had a little maintenance or something of that sort (the time of day when community / friends don't work for a while) and afterwards popped up with the new weekend deal - Hitman Absolution at 75% off, costing only £4.99 here in the UK.

I'm not that much of a fan of the Hitman series, so I'm not sure if there had been other epic discounts on this game, but it's a pretty recent and quite a massive title, and it's already so cheap!? I recall a friend saying he bought it for 50 euros not so long ago (2-3 months).

It's a Square Enix game, their games tank in price very quickly. Hitman fans weren't so fond of it but new players were more forgiving. Personally I didn't like the look of it so I'm not really interested in it.

Every single cutscene was slow as hell (i'd say 3 fps were too much). After doing some research i found lots of people having the same problem and now with MSAA disabled i play on ultra and cutscenes work just perfect

Yeah it's been the same price a few times. Personally I loved it, and I've played every Hitman game multiple times. I don't understand where the hate comes from.

I don't intend to buy it, I was just curious why it received such a huge price drop in such a short period of time, makes it seem that it wasn't very successful.

It was successful, so were Tomb Raider and Sleeping Dogs, both critically and commercially.

Yet for some reasons Square Enix must have set their expectation for sales number way to high. They consider all 3 figures to be not successful, and their CEO just resigned this week too.

it was succesfull enough, big fans already got the game with full prize or preorder, so they decided to sell for those who're waiting for discount too. tbh i wouldnt care to buy it if they waited 1-2 years to make this discount. they made the wise move.
