Try to give away more games and you don't notice these small drops (because of Steam price list changes).

My CV fell down too on 120$.
Looks like Payday was made bundled

Any reason for drop never got cv frm bundled games

Yes, it is too difficult for Steamgifts to do this, so when the game is added to a bundle, to not takes a CV from people who already created and finished they Giveaway with this game. :)

And I dropped from $1800 to $1638. But don't worry, its easy to fix that.

I think I lost around $30 somewhere, nothing too bad though.
EDIT: Just checked again and I've now lost closer to $60 (mostly because Iron Sky's value has halved), oh well.

That explains a bit of my own loss, gave away two of those (and a third outside of SG, that 90% coupon was nice), along with the Serious Sam collection I gave during a recent event. Every single cent is figured now.

With that kind of drop, it really says something about you.

Well that's great for the Russians but why does that screw everyone else?
Comment has been collapsed.
because everyone else could get it for this price + some small like 5-10% fee from a Russian trader. And a lot of people did as they tend to do. SG has no way to determine if you bought yourgame yourself or cheaper from trader, and as anyone can buy from a trader the most fair option is to assume cheapest price.

Well then following that logic wouldn't every game on Steam need to be on the bundle list. There is always the possibility that some one traded for a game. Maybe a couple of cards they didn't pay anything for to receive a game they get CV for. Just saying that you should not punish everyone for a few. Also if you are going to punish everyone... why not make the CV value what Steams lowest sale price is and not 0!

It is not a perfect system, but it severely cuts down on abuse while still encouraging giveaway creation. Your alternative is certainly not a superior solution.

$430 to $136. Guess I'll have to stop buying nonbundle games to give away.
Comment has been collapsed.
Nah, just give titles that aren't in the exploitable price range.

The nonbundle games I gave away allowed me to enter different contests in my group. But now it seems like I cheated to enter these contests. Just hope I don't get into any trouble for this.

No-one should be getting retroactively grumpy with you. If they let you in at the time, then all's fair.

It's getting really hard to choose which games we should buy to giveaway. Cause now wish I didn't spend my money in those games and bought something for myself.
Comment has been collapsed.
If you care about CV, just give away games that aren't like 90% off.
Those games may be bundled sometime, due to Regional Pricing Exploit.

Agree, Games shouldn't be bundled retroactively here on SG

Well yes, but according to the fair value approach this is the single correct thing to do. Games don't keep their value over time. So why should your contributor value? You have to see it from a different point of view. It does not count how much money you gave away but which value those money have atm in the winners inventory/library.

It shouldn't really matter how much the game is worth now, the only thing that should matter is how much it was worth when you actually gave it away. Its current value means nothing. If I gave $100 to charity right now, 5 years from now I still would have given $100 no matter what the current value of a dollar is.

This has been suggested many times.
I think it's hard to do this when a game glitch sale only happens for a few minutes, people make quick 1 hr giveaways and then they would have lots of CV and if what you suggested happened it would be frozen at the high value before the game is bundled.

What if he only gives games away at full price!
What do you mean people don't do that?
Comment has been collapsed.
Maybe all should start giving game with contributor only

I saw a glitch where Tomb Raider was listed at 70p on here, and my CV actually went up $20.
Came back an hour later and it was fixed. I think steam is having some hiccups.

If you ask me I think that if you gave away a game before it was bundled you shouldn't get penalized. You gave it away when it was full price/small discount so you have the right to keep your CV.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yea...uh, if you gave a game away before a price drop, the CV you have should be the same and never change unless there's a bug or a specific game was abused.

All I can say to most comments is,calling giving away the games for free to strangers an abuse is...an abuse.
