It's been unofficially unannounced that Half-Life 3 will be released on 1 April 2014. It's rumored that Gabe told Valve employees, that with the Success of the Call of Duty Franchise, Half-Life 3 will follow the same principles, it'll be created as a generic shooter set in the year 2350, The player will be cast as a lone rookie Ship Security Officer with limited weaponry. The weaponry will be expandable with extra DLC that can be bought extra as needed.
The Main Setting of the game will be inside a doomed Alien Mothership, but to finish the game, extra missions and the final Boss Level will be made available via Paid DLC. In an industry First, Valve has confirmed that there will not be a season pass available, due to financial considerations of Valve, as flogging the paying customers of their hard earned money, is financially rewarding to Valve
