Hello!

I'm friking out for download errors, when I try to get The Sims 3. Errors when I leave it at night, restarting % of progress (wtf). Day 1 - 30%, day 2 - 82%, day 3 - 46% ------ WAAAAAT?

And my question is:

If I download The Sims 3 from torrents, and install it on OriginGames folder, it may work, or not?

I don't want to make some disquisition - I want simple answer.

If you have issues downloading with Origin, upgrade to the Beta client ( Start Origin -> Origin -> Application Settings -> Origin Beta Participation / checkmark Update to the beta version when available), close Origin and restart it. It will upgrade to the Beta and then try to download your games.

Apparently the new beta version includes features fixes to and/or improved download system.

It has been reported on several gaming forums that this improves / fixes issues with downloads.

I'm downloading on BETA version for about 30 min. BUT why did I have 82% and now I have 33% and it says 7h left? ;/ Where did my downloaded files go? To the junkyard?

I had the same problem with Dead Space 3, so I torrented the game and put the files in the proper folder, then I started the download again; Origin skipped all the existing files and downloaded only around 200mb.

Update to the beta client AND if you are using a custom DNS stop using it. Origin uses akamai servers and it automatically downloads from the nearest server to your dns. Set your dns to automatic and you should be able to download at max speed without any errors.

I shared this in another thread. ill share it here

Theres a fix in the beta version of Origin

The fix :

  1. Go to the Origin menu

  2. Application and Privacy

  3. Click keep Origin up to date / opt for betas

  4. Restart origin, resume download
