I'm still using my first iPhone, a 3Gs. Although, I'll probably pick up a Nexus when it gets updated (this month or next month I think).

Apple really tries to get people to buy new iPhones, down to IOS getting slower and slower each version. IOS 5 is unbelievably slow on my 3Gs, I'm stuck on IOS 4. BUT, new apps are not compatible with 4, only 5. Apples XCode makes it easy to develop for the latest IOS, but difficult to stay backwards compatible.

Then look at Android. The Android platform gets faster as it is developed and more optimized. It's like a different world. They also cost less (well, the Nexus does, I don't know about the others). Everyone else in my family has already switched to Android.

I don't own one, but it's actually not a waste of money, assuming you always want a phone plan, at least in the US. If you're able to upgrade with a cell phone contract to get a cheap price, you can actually sell your old iPhone for more than the new one costs. Of course you have to pay for the plan each month, but assuming you wanted a smartphone anyways, it makes sense to upgrade it whenever you can since selling the old one can more than cover the cost

Well most people don't understand crud about products (not saying you don't).

The new Apple product has a new processor, the screen is larger, and it pretty much is changed. The people who were stupid are people who had iPhone 4's and switched to that 4S crap because all that changed was a new sound card.

I'm not into Apple products, but I do follow with the latest tech, I'd probably only stick with the ITouch... the iPhone is much weaker than the Touch (in terms of gameplay). It's really only useful because it's a phone.

Then again I don't have a cell phone either!

I disagree with this. Apple produce high-quality products, but over-charge greatly for them.

It isn't super different, but they made a lot of changes that you can pretty easily look up on their site. The thing is, most of them aren't cosmetic though.

I can afford one, but I'd pay twice as much for anything but an iPhone. Fortunately, Android phones are better priced and can do a lot more than any iPhone ever will. They're barely catching up to features from last year with their new iOS.
