Just watch the original till Kimimaru's battle against Rock Lee and Gaara. Everithing after this only goes down hill. Watch One Piece and Case Closed(Detective Conan), best "huge" animes I ever watched. ^^

Yes, parts of shippuuden were great. I never said the entirety of Shippuuden and by connection, all of Naruto were great. Im sure One Piece, to you, is awesome, however based on the spread out episodes I saw I classified one piece as crap. Granted, I watched MAYBE 5 episodes, a few at the start, some in the middle, and a few more around 300~.

Having watched all of Naruto and most of Shippuuden, up to naruto getting on a boat to go train more to control his kyobi and then fillers, I loved it. Of course the fillers were shit, as were the fillers in bleach which were, IMO, much worse in number and quality then Naruto's. At least most of naruto's fillers somewhat related to the story, bleach would be mid battle then shift to playing soccer or some bs. But I digress.

When Sarutobi was killed, and they had the pursuing coarse of episodes with his funeral and the will of fire and all that, oh man...

I was a huge fan of Naruto but they really screwed it. The only parts of Shippuuden I enjoyed were the battle vs Pain, Sasuke vs Itachi and Jiraiya's death. Well about One Piece, I guess it's in the same situation as Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, you need to bear with it until it explodes and BOOOOM you get pregnant with epicness. It's not a mistake that it is considered the 2nd best shounen anime, the 1st being FMAB for obvious reasons...

Take out the fillers, and Bleach/Naruto are really good. Problem is, 60% are fillers. Granted, its not Shakespere, though after watch 1996's rendition of Romeo and Juliet... well ill let you fill in the blanks.

Definitely give Bebop a watch, if only because of its high status. Mushishi is great stuff for people who can appreciate the more relaxed and meditative fare, and Monster's an incredible thriller for those who can make it through its 74 episodes.
