there is no strength in numbers in this case. Not only is the military alerted to the event. You would actually be considered a bigger threat when approaching the base in a large group rather than alone

No, they only have that after a certain line but this is clearly marked. They'd have to get in quite deep though and most will probably be arrested if they would even try. But if they would really storm with numbers and would overrun the base (very unlikely) then that would be a possibility xD

Plus the idea of "Let's gather a large group and let's all run towards a base heavily guarded by armed military personnel! What could possibly go wrong?!" is just incredibly idiotic :D

It's a military base. Therefore shoot to kill is expected, and legally allowed as it's kind of the soldiers jobs to defend it against perceived threats. A mob trying to storm a base can quite easily be perceived as a threat.
I don't tend to root for mass shootings to happen, as funnily enough those tend to be bad things. But in this scenario I'm going to brew a lovely cup of tea and excitedly wait for the bodies to start piling.
Sounds harsh but if you're enough of a dipshit to to think rushing an active military base is a good idea then you should be allowed to follow through with it and deal with the consequences. Or your families will have to deal with the consequences. Funeral care is expensive.
So am wondering how many will actually properly attempt it. Memes can be glorious and all but I hope most people are intelligent enough to not actually attempt it.
