If it happened to me, I'd try to scan the PC with both updated AV and Spybot, then verify the game's cache.
A freeze like that could also be CPU/GPU throttling from power starvation, so I'd suspect the PSU or the motherboard.
It could also be a defective RAM module, so I'd also try a Memtest run.

only games freeze? Can you alt ctrl del when it freezes and go back to the desktop?
Maybe the vga can't output video and that causes the freezes.
I had to replace my 660ti e month ago, and it was playing metro redux just a moment before dying (all i did was cable management outside the computer). The vga is the first thing i'd point out in a gaming rig

Hey guys i got a problem and i hope someone could help me with it , so i wont have to send my pc to the lab.
around like a week ago i was playing when my game (gw2) froze , then other games started freeze ..
sometimes the freeze lasts 30 secs and sometimes i need to restart my pc
the games are on different hard drives (SSD and HDD)
also the temp of of the gpu and cpu are ok around 40
GPU is gtx 770
CPU is i7 4770
also i just updated to the newest nvidia driver
anything knows what could cause that problem? i thought its the driver and updated it and tried playing a game , it froze :<
