I take it you've never actually played it then.
Because your joke about pirates is relevant to AC4, not AC3.

You get the Tyranny of King Washington DLCs with the deluxe, which are each multiple hours, as far as I know. (There's 3 of em).

Yes, the deluxe edition has twice the price than vanilla edition.
But you also got all the dlc and benedict arnold mission, which if you buy the vanilla version, the season pass, and remaining dlcs, you won't get benedict arnold mission.
CMIIW.

i've played through AC3 already (minus the DLC's though) and gotta say it was quite a boring game compared to the others :(
there are a few extra DLC for the single player (included in the season pass thingy) for an alternate history / ending or something, but i'm not sure how much more fun it would make the game (it does add quite a few hours of gameplay to the singleplayer though)

i've been picking up assassins creed games as they go 75% off on steam, and now ac3 is up. for revelations i bought it with all dlc which wasn't really worth it since i only play single player and didn't like the lost archives stuff.
judging by the deluxe ac3 being DOUBLE the price of the base game, i would hope there's something really excellent and worthwhile (like more missions typical of an assassins creed single-player experience). i know dlc is usually overpriced so i don't expect double the content for double the price, but if all i'm getting outfits and weird block-placing missions plus some multiplayer stuff i won't use then i'll pass.
for a story-oriented assassins creed player not interested in multiplayer, am i missing much if i save the extra $7.50 and skip the dlc?
