I've decided it's a type of dry Italian bread, best served with sweetened coffee. It has dried fruits, and is served at breakfast.

Yes, but that's served during Christmas and eaten for dessert, and this is eaten any day and served at breakfast. Completely different. ;)

Panettone (I think the tone/piano thing got me) is a tall, regal bread. This is a shorter, everyday bread. Less fluffy. Not stale-dry like biscotti, but crumbly. More dense and moist. But totally not a scone. :D (There's a lot of breads, why not one more?)

When asking a black and white compilation of 88 individuals to identify themselves, they reply “amapiano”

But I’m guessing this is a word in a non-English language.

🙄I'm so grateful for AI like this, it's made explanations a breeze lately.
Amapiano is a genre of dance music that has developed in South Africa. It emerged around 2012 in the Gauteng region of the country and has since spread nationwide.

The key characteristics of amapiano include:

A low-pitched synth sound combined with elements of house music, kwaito, and gqom
A slow tempo, typically between 100-120 BPM
Melodic piano or keyboard phrases that are distinctive
A danceable rhythm with a soulful atmosphere
Reflecting the cultural background of South Africa

Amapiano has taken over the club scene in South Africa and has gradually gained global attention as well. It is known for its danceable and refined sound.

Something that comes from the city of Amalfi? But, I don't know, I guess an archaic word for Amalfi is Amapi ... ? Just a wild guess though.

Also in English "apian" is an adjective connected to bees, but I don't think that's the correct direction.

Mario and Luigis talking piano?

"Imma Mario!",
Ama piano!

Sadly I am probably the only person on the planet who's never played a Mario game

My other guess would have been another name for a baby grand piano

I'm sure it has nothing to do with this song, but all the "piano" talk gives me an excuse to post it:

a- means "no" like atheist believes in "no God" or apathy means "no passion".
Ma - means Mother
Piano is a musical instrument.

So, obviously, it's a motherless piano.

amapiano - On A Ipama, Ipama is a printback industry in india, so it means a certain graphic is being hung or shown on items there :)

'ipama' is an Italian word for 'shoe' (one of very many)

'amapiano' is 'year of the walking backwards' which can be used to refer to any period where progress (in the view of the speaker) is lost

amapiano = Ama(teur) piano

Which means it is, obviously, a piano for the absolute beginners/not skilled ones.
Maybe the ones that play automaticly (good) music when you only hit one key :-D

This is an amapiano, it's an elevator which consists of a chain of open compartments that move slowly in a loop up and down inside a building without stopping.

In Portuguese that would mean "Piano lover", but I know there is an italian restaurant called vapiano, so it's probably related to pasta!
