I don't get the love for this game.

I like it because it's a fun Metroid/Castlevania-like game with one of my favorite game elements: randomly-generated stuff

The big problem is things get pretty dull if you don't have any friends that play it

Yeah... and it's grind oriented, too...

It depends on what you want to accomplish. If you want to have a grand castle or own every single item in the game, you're going to have to invest time into doing stuff

A couple times I just made new characters with some friends and we screwed around exploring, and just subsisted off loot we found in caves

I'm afraid that's not how porting works. The version it's ported to has to be superior, or people who bought it already won't even consider buying it, and people who haven't bought it will most likely buy the original version, because the ports are often screwed up and better be safe than sorry.

around 10% of the games ported to pc are superior to the console versions, they normally fail hard when ported.

and they don't have to be superior, look at minecraft its meant to be a good six months behind pc and still selling well.

PC ports are usually superior by having better graphics and running better.
And Minecraft is selling so good, well, because it's Minecraft.

I think I saw a similar game for mobile devices (specifically iOS) a while ago but I forgot the name. The name had "Junk" in it.

Well, that was pretty anti-climactic. At least they could give the PC version some mod support.

Nnnnno. You bought it for the PC, it doesn't grant you a port on a console. Same reason why you don't get Super Meat Boy on the Xbox if you bought it through the dev's website for the PC. Also, they might be slightly different products, such as the example of SMB shows.

Which console is it gonna be on? Or did they not say?

Edit: Ah nvm, they said Ps3 and XBox.

I hope there's a Vita release :X

odd... cause I thought they stopped development for it... and never made a proper api for modding... ah well, still a fun game, just seems kind of lackluster in the building end when compared to its 3d counterpart.
