To people who pre-ordered Bioshock Infinite from GMG

is the key you get straight away the steam key or is it for some other dmr? because i tried to redeem it on steam and it said it was invalid

That code is for the Industrial Revolution puzzle-game. Solve puzzles for in-game lootz. The actual game key will (hopefully) appear when the game's released :)

I would expect the keys to be released early to allow for pre-loading.
Have bought many games from them.

You'll get your key early, like 1 day. If you want more time to preload: buy it on steam. If I pre order a retail copy I also havr to wait till release, buying a key at GMG is pretty much the same.

Actually, GMG was able to get keys before release for few games, allowing pre-load.

1 day, before release. Or do you mean more? I've never gotten my keys earlier than 1/2 days before the actual release on Steam, which is plenty of time to preload it imo. Yet there might be some exceptions where you get the key way earlier, dunno :p

Edit: Aw, i've just seen the tweet, maybe no preload at all for Infinite :( "keys will be sent out on the release date. We can't guarantee that you'll be able to preload -James"

Ahh, you meant 1 day early. I understood your post as "you'll get your keys on 1 day" aka release date.

The email you're sent contains the exact instructions with what to do with the key they initially give. It unfortunately doesn't say that you will get your Steam key later.
You can always ask their twitter account when you'll get a key, which gets questions like this all the time, or ask on their forums.

If you pre-order from GMG and we activate the key a day early, do we get the pre-order bonuses on Steam? Not necessarily the Bioshock and XCOM gift, but at least the genuine TF2 items?
