Honestly I wouldn't worry too much about your banner at the minute, I'd focus more on the videos themselves. (nice voice btw, I think that if you keep at it and grow in confidence you have a good chance of becoming somewhat successful).

People will generally find your channel through recommended videos more often than through the main page of the channel itself, hence why the video takes priority in terms of quality. There's no point having a great banner if the content you are producing isn't on the same level.
P.S: Just my two cents, don't take it personal in any way. It is just a word of advice.
