First of all Sorry i made 2 discussions total today i aplogise, but i have a question. so i want to leave 1 game for idling cards and another game (inthis case mw2) to play. But i heard if you play 2 games at the same time the card drops time are doubled if not tripled i heard this from steam forums, this is the message "you can run any amount of games as you want and can,but keep in mind that is not usefull for farming cards, the drop times are doubled or even tripled, once i left the pc idling 3 games and only drop one card in all nigth"
is this true?

You can run many games but the card chance is reduced so yeah its better if you farm one at a time

Is this a bug or valve made this on purpose? also how much time reduced?

i dont know how much time is reduced exctly from my experience cause i use to play and farm card on accasion it took me from 8 min to 10 hours to drop a card, and i dont think its a bug maybe its a server thing so it wont go overload if everybody runs 10 games at the same time

On purpose, to prevent flooding the market.
And it's not doubled, the multiplier is a lot higher. Several hours/drop.

Could always just idle cards while you sleep/eat/do homework/work.

It doesn't make a difference whether you are playing or idling, they are the same thing in the eyes of steam. If you have 2 games running, it will drastically cut your drop rate.

Farming cards manually is a waste of time. I would recommend not doing that and using ASF instead (or idlemaster if you don't know how/don't want to read)

Im not taking a risk for a steam ban with idlemaster and other programs. only if gaben tells me its safe then i do it xD

You can't get banned for using idlemaster or ASF, steam only sees that you are running a game and idling it for cards, which most people have been doing for a long time now.

but those programs doesnt make your cards go faster right? they are good for when you go to sleep and want to farm cards etc

It just means you don't have to download each game you idle, you just start the program and it idles each game by itself.
p.s: No, it doesn't speed up the process, it just makes automatic. So for example, when it idled all the cards for one game, it moves to the next one.

exactly,Im here all day i can switch up games easily and most of em take to like 5-10 mins to download and many of em even less, most of the big games that has cards i already got em.

As I said in another thread (and many people were doubtful, but for me it works), everytime I run multiple games with idlemaster or similia, the time cards drop is reduced for 15 minutes each game.
Usually is 30 minutes for cards when I idle a single game
45 minutes for 2 cards when I idle two games
1 hour for 3 cards when I idle three games
And so on. But it can happen that the time is different, and if you refunded a game then you need to idle your games for 2 hours each.

Wait that means the more games the better or i missunderstood?

Yeah, the problem is when internet drops, it's like it resets itself. If you don't run them constantly, then it can have some problems and you need to wait longer (if you need 1 hour for 3 cards, then at 30 minutes your internet crashes, you have to do around 1 hour again of idling for the cards)
Try it yourself, test what could be the better idling strategy.
For testing I have made a second account, and let it run a game without idlemaster and with some internet crashes I waited around 2 hours for 1 card. If you have costant internet, a good strategy, and idlemaster and similia, you can drop "faster", basically.

so if my internet crashes, what i need to do is restart both of the games so the timing restarts kinda so i get them faster?

P.S sorry for my english

Your english is fine don't worry.
No need to restart both games, but internet crashes make the idling slower, nothing you can do about it.

It's strange then. I never refunded a game, but all of them take at leat 2 hours of idling (alone) to drop cards! Sometimes I hate Valve, and do this more often year after year, they're spoiled.

Do you have internet drops? Were you one of the people who got the game Drunk Wizard that then got removed?
If you have internet drops, that may be the case.
If you got that game and got revoked, then that may be it, because some people complained that the idling cards got shifted by 2 hours.
If nothing of both...idk, sometimes it's random

I have also heard that accounts made after a certain point are more likely to have the 2 hour drop. I'm not sure when that point was.

If that's true I could confirm it. My secondary account made recently has slower cards drop

In your case its doubled. When i farm cards i play games (2-3) that give cards for 2-3 hours then if you leave 1 or 2 game u get boost in drop.
Don't know if it take same amount of time but if you farm game for 2h to get 3 cards x 3 game = 6h in total, i leave 3 game in the background when I watching movies at night and in the morning it drops all card (i sleep 8-10h).

With a simple farming program, you could drop 12-18 cards in that 8-10 hours…

Just use Steam Idle Master. Gabe doesn't care about it because he only makes money out of card drops :)

I regularly use Idle Master. In my case, whenever Steam acknowledges that my account is currently running (and/or idling) multiple games at once, the drop chance will be significantly reduced. Even worse, you can even go several hours without getting a single card drop. Which is why you should never run multiple games at once after reaching 2 hours of playtime in each eligible games, imo.

I strongly suggest doing this with CS:GO. Run it on two computers at the same time, as well Idlemaster (on each computer) and Archie's Steam Farm.

Let me know how it goes
