Yeah I was wondering about the code itself. Some codes are given out with specific promotions intent on a small crowd, and by giving them out you basically get the code cut off and the intended audience may not get it.
Here's hoping it's nothing like that.

You know, I think that people taking ONE key wouldn't be a big problem. The problem was people who took multiple keys, that will probably rot in their email box.

I suppose it all depends on how many keys they initially expected to give away.
If they only gave the code for a free key to about 100 people, but then 10,000 keys were claimed, it gets pretty ugly. Not even with people harvesting multiple keys, just the rate of spread after it gets passed around, y'know?

Yeah I see your point. I think they actually might realize that it will leak sooner or later, thanks to people who would share it with friends or some smaller communites. I think they were ready for that, but they certainy wasn't ready for that massive ammount of entries. I think that no limit for keys per email prooves that.

Steamgifts will remove Syberia from the giveaways list to stop people getting CV for free. At that point, it's likely that people who have keys for Syberia wil start making giveaways for the wrong game (Syberia II) and ask people to mark it as received anywway so they can get still get free CV. This will probably result in Steamgifts removing Syberia II from the giveaway list as well.
This sort of thing happens often when 1 game from a series is given away free on a website or promotion.

doesnt matter where they buy it, it from now on is considered free. even if you spent a million dollars buying one copy. it is now free and you will get nothing for it
