I know that this was not meant to be funny, but the curtains made me laugh :)

Well, curtains aren't cheap. The guy who lives right in front of my apartment uses journals to tap the window to his bedroom. True story.

When I was in college, I used posters in my windows instead of buying proper curtains.

Never robbed, but my bike has been stolen more times than I can count.

.... That's just sad.
But yeah, here in Dutchyland bikes are almost considered public property. At least, that's how people seem to treat them :P

True gypsies are actually very nice and friendly people, who do whatever they can to not be a hassle to the locals.

there is a very distinct line between the true, god worshiping, respectful gypsies. and the pikey people who steal everything they find and ruin the area they squat in

Can we leave god out of the equation? I don't think religion is a great character judge.

It's waaaaay more complicated than, they're bad or nice. They have some strange tradition and while some are nice and friendly most of the one's I know of won't work no matter what. They rather sell junk, steal, beg, live in shit (even if they have 3 story houses). They have a very different mentality.

Someone stole my crappy bike, a while ago.
But I have a friend who's even shittier bike was stolen, like 3 years ago. After about 6 months the police found his bike and the robber, some guy 50+ years old. He was so happy, but after about 4-5 months, his bike was stolen again. :)). Check this out, the police found the bike again, after about another 6 months. And guess what, the robber was the same 50+ year old guy. :)). He didn't even get convicted for his first crime, because his court trial wasn't even scheduled yet after almost a year.
true story

Several years ago, I took a summer job. At the end of summer, I received my wage (approx. 95 euros for 2,5 months), got on a train and headed home,
There was a stop , where 6 'romanies' (gypsies) got on for a few minutes , and long story short, they took it all.
Crap, I feel bad about it again :S .
almost 2 Skyrim giveaways :P
What about you guys ?
I meant absolutely no offence against Romanians, I thought romanies is word for gypsies. I am terribly sorry.
