You can try to send GOG receipt to the publisher/developer and ask for steam key.

Frozenbyte was doing that with Shadwen because GOG version doesnt have map editor. Dunno for other devs/publishers though.

You could always "add non steam game to library"
not much would be different.

Except for Achievements and cards. At least I think that would be the case.

I suppose your best bet would be the "gog connect" program that's running.

But Gog Connect only lets you add selected games you own on Steam to Gog for free, not the other way around. Or does it ?

Pretty sure it goes both ways, but i'm not certain.

I really should get a GOG account someday. That way I can get all those classic RPGs again and be able to play them (Pool of Radiance, that sort of thing).

The main reason for adding it on Steam would be avoiding entering games I already own on SG or buying the same game twice :) Will it work?

I know but it won't work with private GA's unfortunately :(

SG++ can hide games marked "not interested" on Steam and blocks enter button in all giveaways. Love it :)

I'm using my phone more than computer to visit SG lately :/ So it solves half of the problem ;)

Better than nothing. On phone, marking not interested and visiting store page is better than relying on memory (well, depends on how many you enter daily)

The entire point of GoG was old games without DRM, then they made their own DRM....

But with that in mind, I doubt they'll give steam keys as it'd promote using Steam over their own client.

GOG is still DRM-free. GOG Galaxy is fully optional. You can download DRM-free games from the GOG website. :)

This is why I worry GOG Connect is worse for GOG rather than good for them. If someone can buy a game on both Steam and GOG (or even for a chance it'll appear on GOG Connect), versus just GOG, surely they're more likely to take the former (for a whole host of reasons, such as trading cards, achievements, cloud saves etc.) and then sync it or hope it will also appear on GOG later via Connect, rather than just buy it on GOG and not gain any of the Steam benefits.

You can just add the game.exe to your steam library since they are drm free games. Then you can start them in your steamclient. But you won't get a steam license if that's what you were trying.
