I find myself spending way too much money, more than I have / should spend on steam sales.

I'm so OCD I feel like I have to get everything once its in bundles or on low enough sale because one day I "might" want to play it.

Also steam achievements and trading cards add to the OCD factor.

How do you guys resist your gamers instinct collectors OCD?

How do you decide which games are in and which games are out? No matter the sale?

This is especially true due to the upcoming winter sale.

TL;DR - Spending too much money I don't have on games I don't play and gifts because they're on sale. How do I stop?

I ask myself: do I have enough money for food if I buy this game? If the answer is no, I will not buy anything...

I usually tell myself not to get something until I hit a gaming goal. It's usually like finishing a game, completing all the achievements on another, or getting my overall achievements above a certain threshhold. If I spot a really great bundle, I'll get it. I'm kinda lucky in that I don't have much free time anymore, and the internet is crappy where I live, so I'm limited to single player games really.

Welll.... I rarely get money, so I save it for a greater cause, my new pc, and sometimes (Like today I buy the Humble Bundle, use the keys I want and give away or sell the rest.

Make some rules. I, for examble have too much rules.

Steam:
Game should make a 0.2€ or bellow cost/hour of gameplay
Game should be <3.5€

I use this (100*(0.1-(CH/MR)) to rate my purchase. CH = Cost / Hour and MR = My rate of the game. It depends on the rating system you use but for me it is a good purchase if it is >7 (rate = 1-10)
