I'm not absolutely sure, but once I won a giveaway created by Icaio. The game was "Spacebase DF-9". After claiming I found the game "Hack and Slash" in my inventory. That's why I always thought that was the game that gave me the extra gift.

Also, I know when you buy " Don't starve together" they usually give you an extra copy for you to send to a friend.
In my case, since I'm from South America, I was being limited to send the copy to people from very specific countries. I found a random contact in my Steam who was having it in his wishlist and gave it to him, since other frinds of mine were having the game already.

what we have here is a wild maya, native to internet, steamgifts tribe, i believe. their language can be extremely difficult to translate at times but i'll take a crack at it. i could be wrong, but my interpretation of "You can edit your posts?" appears to be a somewhat sarcastic way of saying "why are you replying to yourself instead of editing your original post?".
i could be wrong though as english is my main language and my sarcasm is kinda iffy.

I decided to check, and I just redeemed a retail key for Cthulhu Saves Christmas and it didn't give me a gift copy of Cosmic Star Heroine.
Edit: Also redeemed Nanotale and it didn't give me Epistory either.

That's odd, I checked Cthulhu Saves Christmas TWICE and it gave me a copy twice.
Once to my friend and once to myself.
Unsure about Nanotale, but I do have a giftable copy of Epistory in my inventory that was given to me by a friend cause I like collecting them and he also has Nanotale in his library

Cthulhu's case is pretty weird since I tried it with a friend only a week ago, and my own copy was 2 months ago.. both gave me the gift.
