So I really need to get this off my chest: At 4:30 AM This morning (August 20th, 2015), I lost my grandfather (193?-2015) to cancer. A veteran of the Korean War and a Hard working Grandfather up until last night, he will be forever missed. Requeiscate de pache (Rest in Peace).

EDIT: He got the cancer from working with Pressure Treated Wood.

That sucks. I'm sorry. Both of mine died before I was born.

Sorry to hear that... I lost my centenarian grandmother months ago.
Luckily, I braced myself years before it happened, and didn't think she would live for so many more years. Still, no matter how much you ready yourself, a death always hurt. Always.

Sorry to hear that, but at least you got to know your grandfather (not like me), you will have his memories forever!

I'm so sorry. It's a shame whenever someone passes away, as it's a part of the history of the world slipping away into oblivion. I hope you find comfort and solace in the legacy of his life.

Only one of my grandparents died from something other than cancer, so I know how it can be. My condolences. Those who have departed from us continue to live on in our memories and the way they touched our lives. It sounds to me like your grandfather was very active in the lives of others, leaving behind a rich legacy.

I can't fully express how I empathize with you at the moment. I'm going through something eerily similar.
You have my sympathy as well.

My condolences, mate. Lost my grandfather about a year ago as well so I know what you're feeling right now.
Take care and chin up now, I'm pretty sure he wouldn't want to see you down. May he rest in peace.
