not to belittle your day or whatever, its the internet and everyone can talk but you will do what you want.
i just wanna know why are you happy about this day!? and why get offended if someone you love ignore it?

It's not really a significant day after you are certain age. Basicly I don't gain or lose anything from it either... So in real sense it doesn't matter.
I don't even know if I'm really happy about the day.
But I always take execuses to grab attention some way... I'm sad person in that way.

thats reasonable, but do you really need an excuse :D

"[S]o what is your take on this? [D]o you celebrate it? [W]hy?"
No, I do not celebrate birthdays because I am Muslim. In Islam, we have two massive celebrations per year, and a small one every week. In many cultures, people celebrate having lived another year, perhaps because they are happy to still be alive. Practicing Muslims, however, prefer the next life to this one, and do not desire a prolonged life. Thinking about "the past year" usually inspires us to seek forgiveness for time we have wasted and sins we have accumulated.
PS. (We Muslims use both solar and lunar calendars, but more commonly the lunar one.)

thank you for your time ^_^
lunar looks similar to solar (12 month and all)
is it forbidden religiously? even on such a personal scale?
also the whole year thing is just a "relativity" thing

Well, there's two parts to that answer.
1) It is not a practice among Muslims to celebrate a birthday, so making it a practice is considered "innovating in the religion," which is a very bad thing. In effect, it is like someone saying, "I know better than God does, and so I'm making this a new practice of our religion." Someone putting themselves above God is a very serious error in Islam.
2) If other people want to celebrate their birthdays, that's up to them, but we Muslims are not allowed to celebrate it with them. (see #1) We Muslims have our own celebrations, as mentioned above.

a lot of the celebrations are a commercial trends to increase sales or to sell certain products ex. Valentin
and i get that human like to go with and such, (look "improv everywhere").
but birthdays are just too personal. they are not New year or Christmas

I don't hate celebrations. I just hate it that they are not like they should. My family gave me NOTHING as a gift. Only my mom kissed me said "Happy Birthday". I hate when people say "Happy Birthday". No, if my birthday is happy, it has nothing to you "wishing" it. When I get away from this shitty place, I will celebrate my birthday all by myself. That will be better than now, since now I can't do stuff I want to.

so you just want the gift?
its simple, dont gift those who dont give.

I haven't been on this site in almost a year but as I recall people hide gibways in the source code by either leaving the brackets empty or just putting a space in it so it looks something like this: [ ] ( sekeretgibwaylinkhere ).
Birthdays seem no better or worse than most holidays that are celebrated annually.

It worked for me when I did my initial test comment. Create the link as outlined here but instead of having text in the brackets just hit the space bar once.
Someone always insists on sending me a birthday card or some such but no I don't care for my birthday. I tend to have a streak of bad luck for about a week on either side of my birthday, with the damages totaling hundreds of dollars every time. I don't consider myself superstitious but when it's consistent every year I don't know what else to chalk it up to besides some sort of birthday jinx.

its not "free". it commen act that you gift back those who are kind enough to remember you

tl;dr im so happy lets dance to the sun man naked
so it my birthday, no, no dont congratulate me. just hold all your feelings and think with me a little.
and lets start with the fact that i did not know until my mother called, i know its the the month i was born in but i never looked at it as significant date. maybe because i literally have 2 birth certificates with 2 different dates (both are legal documents regardless of how obtained), also other legal documents have me born 18 JAN.
all of this adds to my mental case of hating "THE MAN" who created this calender, why solar? why follow the earth and not Potato planet? its not much of a point but something to add read this --i hate the number 12!
now to the emotional part of it. i didnt celebrate it in the last decade, not that i did before but it not a habit of mine. i react awkwardly about it, never pinpoint the date or just fake a smile. i get moody and get off the grid to avoid contacts on regular bases. and if i didnt, the fact that some will contact me on such occasion force me to disappear.
also i find this hilarious that i send it to everyone who invite my to a birthday www.youtube.com/watch?v=N5mPnYLto3I
its not that i hate birthdays, but its an unwanted social event. i enjoy my life on a daily basis, those who i want in my life are there and they dont need an invitation to drop by. even if the busy with family type, we make sure to meet at least once every few weeks.
so what is your take on this?
do you celebrate it? why?
also just cause every one make a giveaway on his birthday, i dont have too.
but then again, peer pressure.
i wanted to give Papa&Yo, saved for some event. then it went on the bundle list.
so maybe i will get something nice later. i have till 21 cuze this is a sexy number
also can someone teach me how to hide links like a pro?
