Can't say I disagree on the first part :p
With the Star Wars games, I'm a bit unsure if that's EA or if Disney is interfering in any way. Might also be that they're feeling the pressure from the fans of the license being taken away, so they make aingle player experiences on the consoles and continue with their lootbox bonanza as DLCs in The Sims 4 or in F2P mobile games.
I know those 2 were really good games, but you can't trust a snake twice, can you.

Coming soon: x5 price increase in LATAM on all Codemaster games...

Hm, idk about FIFA, but still LATAM F1 2020 is like 85% lower than the US price at the moment. 👀

hmm, codemasters themselves already learned that they can rake in money by posting main game content within zillion DLC's... so how low could they sink if they where absorbed by EA..
All I know is that I dont want codemasters games to go under subscription model. But as that's another money raking opportunity - we might as well expect that.

Well, that's the Overlord franchise effectively buried forever or/and turned into a mobile game in a few years. Last chance for anyone who doesn't have them to get Overlord 1, 2 and Raising Hell (not Fellowship of Evil) before they get contaminated with the EA tag forever.

Like headless chicken, moves seems alive, but no, it's dead!

Easy solution is stop buying EA.
They can't survive is no one buys their games!
I have not bought EA, Acitivison/, UBI and many others in YEARS.
I will NOT support them .

More or less. Also there are A LOT of developers that are not associated with those companies.

Oh I wasn't being flippant or anything. I was genuinely curious to know if it was mostly indies that tickled your fancy.
I have a lot of games I have enjoyed from big companies but more and more I find myself more attracted to, entertained by and happy with the indies.

Sorry, the internet has made me bitter and I read that as snark.
Yes, I tend to lean more toward smaller indie games in the past 10? years or so. I find those games actually TRY rather then feel copy pasted to make a release day. I also have a ton of backlog on my DS/3DS and PSP/VITA so that also takes my time. I won't skip a game I already own from years ago since I already bought it but I won't go buying new ones. Also the switch is like indie heaven right now.

No problem, it can be hard to read the tone online, especially when talking to a stranger.

True. And there's less pressure to conform to expectations. In fact there's more incentive to be original because that's how an indie makes its mark. Whereas the big players try to remain as expected as possible because that's how they make their regulars hungry.
Basically it's like movies. It gets them more hype to say "so this game is like this hit meets this other hit" rather than say "well we can't tell you anything, it's different from everything we've done before" because people would be like "well ok then"
Also the switch is like indie heaven right now.
Who'd have thought? I guess some of the big players do learn from their mistakes. Nintendo certainly did.

Also the end of any chance of codemasters titles returning to GeForce NOW.

Didn't really follow their work so was just looking over their stuff on wikipedia.. apparently over the last couple decades they've mostly been focused on sports and racing games... which explains why I didn't remember them as the closest I generally come to that genre is mario kart clones.
I do remember some of their earlier work like playing some of the Dizzy games with a girl I liked when I was younger and of course Game Genie was I really little.
RIP Codemasters
