please don't kill me. I know some ppl passionately hate Ubi but others don't care and I didn't see a mention here so for those who don't hate Ubi they run a summer sale now apparently and you can get FC6 and AC:Odyssey for like $4,80. Just use code UBISOFT20 for 20% off whatever price they list. Hope someone finds this useful :)

there's also some other deals but I'm not sure what else people might care for so you might wanna peruse on your own if there are any other Ubi games you might be interested in

A good deal for those who want achievements more than a steam key. ;-)

If you get it on Steam you still have access to the shitty Ubi achievements as well though

Just a reminder that you are not getting a steam library license by buying it directly through ubisoft.

Also keep in mind what version of the games you are buying.
For some of them the discount is only for the base game and not the gold/ultimate editions that have the season pass/dlcs.

yeah, 'cause that's like deals for people who actually want to play a game rather than just get a +1 to their library yes, I know that's a foreign concept to some...

as for versions, I didn't go through whole Ubi's catalogue, but as far as games I've mentioned go, both have the season pass including version discounted as well as the base game...

I am amazed, as well, with this very true statement and the extent +1 people would go to bash other storefronts. Rather buy a Ubi game on Ubi if it's a historical low than on steam

I'm a collector and want my games on Steam if possible.
I played all AC except for Mirage, Watch_Dogs series, The Crew series, Far Cry series, Driver series, Beyond Good & Evil, Trackmania back in the days (20 years ago) and most recently Starlink: Battle for Atlas (required a lot of troubleshooting though).

Shockingly, right?

How is GOG any different in that regard? They aren't magically storing game files on some interdimensional plane with fail-safe access, it's the same poof in case of TOS.

but GOG provides you offline DRM-free installers for games you buy so you can just download and store them on your own. So even if GOG goes poof you can still install the games from your backups

Imho you can download the games from gog and they're yours forever. Steam just provides a license. You cannot give it away or based on their TOS gift your account to someone else. If that all holds in court I don't know.

Yup, but GoG doesn't offer the same assortment and GoG bundles are also rare. If you start collecting now, yes, you should evaluate GoG vs Steam. For me it's 13 years too late.
Given the market share and the success I also doubt that Steam will shut down during my remaining life. Now whoever will inherit my collection, might become affected, but then they also paid only for their additions.

if you actually want to play a game you should get it on Steam too. Everybody who bought The Crew on Uplay has been screwed and got their game removed from their libraries while Steam owners can now play it again with community mods.

Yeah Ubisoft, I really want to forgive them all the crazy decision they took in the past... but it's difficult. And then this announcement from the "the crew" devs (?) ... "we want you to have the best experience, but <bla bla bla>" ... Well, they offered nothing not even a 5 euro discount for the new game....

honestly, at this point I'd just torrent it. it's unobtanium legally, abandonware and basically unplayable in it's default state so I wouldn't even consider it piracy at this point, so yeah, bite me ubi...

Its not that they are super special in most cases but youre paying good money to get the incomplete version of the game (missing missions and the like). In AC Syndicate only for example youre missing the Jack the ripper post-game expansion, the dreadful crimes unique investigations, the darwin and long night exclusive missions and the maraja dlc thats another 10 missions or so. Also theres the fact that sometimes you cant really upgrade from base game to gold without buying the complete season pass (that usually cost more than the game on sale). Then we can argue the real value or lenght of these missions but...

Ghost Recon Breakpoints is 6 dollars in this sale, but the base game only includes like one third of the game, two later episodes are locked behind the season pass. Typical Ubisoft pricing....

Thanks for the tip.
I'm going to check it out. I have been hoping for a good discount on an extra copy of Ghost Recon Breakpoint to play with my gf.
Almost got it on Steam during the summer sale but the whole double client BS made it a bad idea.

Edit:
Oh well, no current sale going on in France. I guess I'll just wait some more.
Curiously (please don't shoot the messenger), some of the Ubi games are on sale on Epic though.

You can play Breakpoint using the free trial in coop, coop game time doesn't count towards the 6 hours window.
That is to say, only the host needs to have purchased the game.

I have the Gold so that's going to work out perfectly.
My nephew is still young for this type of games but my gf is a fan of CoD type of games and has been asking about Ghost Recon for a while so it's a brilliant fit. She's going to complain about the third person perspective but apparently there are good mods to play it in FPS.

I'm happy to see Avatar at 50% off(plus code). It was only 40% off in the Steam sale. This gives me hope that it will be 75% off by winter sale. And hopefully all the dlc will be out by then for me to decide if I want it. But, based on recent dlc from Ubi games, I won't.

Considering how many (very few) games Ubisoft has in the hopper at this point, and how much they probably paid for the license, I'm not sure Far Cry: Pandora is getting a 75% discount so soon.
Interest in it is probably waning a bit by now but the next movie is getting released in 2025 so the hype will be on. They might expect a bump in sales.

I haven't figured out the Ubisoft sale cycle. It's hard to say when is the best time. Like the Legend sale from 2022 was really close in value for this concerning AC: Odyssey especially if you wanted to also upgrade to gold. For reference. But a straightforward purchase is less of a headache for those who missed out.

GMG however seems to be beating them if you have the XP bonus. Gold) for $12.75 as well as actually putting ultimate on sale if someone just really had to have that Deluxe Kit DLC on top of the season pass. If you do not have the XP bonus, it seems Gamesplanet US has it for $13.75. EDIT: Made a mistake, only the Ultimate is worth it on GMG.

FC6 I think does win on Ubisoft directly, even with upgrades, but you would have to do some combining again because GOTY edition is not on sale but GOTY upgrade is. So you'd buy the base game and then go for GOTY upgrade. But I think it is better to still wait on that one or just go for gold as in my limited research, I'm not seeing much positivity for the "Lost Between Worlds" dlc and that's the only part that makes it an upgrade over gold as I assume the deluxe kit is trivial stuff.

And don't forget to check into some of the weird combos they have in the series..

Like Far Cry New Dawn Ultimate ($10.40) comes with FC5 Gold and FC3 (basic). So there's no point in getting FC5 gold (which isn't even on sale). You might technically miss out on whatever was in FC3 Deluxe but all that multiplayer stuff is dead anyway.

Far Cry 6 Season pass comes with Blood Dragon.

AC Odyssey Season Pass comes with AC 3 and Liberation Remastered.

I was about to go ahead and get that New Dawn Ultimate for the collection but taxes pushed it higher than my $10.99 Ubisoft wallet balance (that has been there since that 2022 purchase). And it's a $10 minimum add with no combined purchase option unlike Steam..so I just went ahead and added FC4 gold to finally clear things out. I think this ended up happening because I refunded an order to get a better deal back in 2022, and I took the wallet option for a faster refund..

Yeah I was going to say FC6 might be the only one that is not worth the Ultimate (actually there are lots of others but this one is by far the worst). You get crap cosmetics and one DLC which is just like taking your old one bedroom apartment, painting it gold and calling it brand new. Not that the Gold edition is worth much either. The 3 DLC are pretty bad and I wouldn't recommend them unless you're obsessed with the previous games villains.

yeah I'm in no hurry. But it is good to get more confirmation on the dlc not being worthwhile. I don't mind having incomplete versions if the dlc ends up being "meh". If gold gets closer to $10 and I actually care to get it, I'll do it then.

well, quick google tells me it's still $12 on Ubi, so Ubi wins, but what do I know, it's not my region...

My apologies for the misinformation. I got too caught up in comparing so I forgot I needed to add it to cart and apply the code before talking about the price of gold. You are correct, AC Odyssey Gold best price is also directly on Ubisoft. AC Odyssey Ultimate best price is on the other sites (simply because Ubisoft didn't put it on sale at all).

I'm pretty sure that's also the daily mantra of the poor people who are actually trying to make good games and seeing them ruined by Ubisoft's disgusting marketing, cash grab strategies and cost cutting.

I've found that its annoying and pretty pointless to own Ubi games on Steam, as they most of the time force you to go through the whole Ubi Connect platform anyway.
So if I'm interested in playing any of the Ubi franchises like Far Cry or AC I might as well get them for Connect, which have sales like this (with codes) quite often. But yeah, the various editions tend not to be included in all of those sales.
