So there is this magnificent offer over at getgames: 75% off Total War franchise titles. http://getgamesgo.com/category/total-war-sale

As a side note: I have been waiting to get Shogun 2 for a long time. If any of you can help me figure out the difference between: http://getgamesgo.com/product/total-war-shogun-2-collection and http://getgamesgo.com/product/total-war-shogun-2-fall-of-the-samurai-collection I would appreciate it!

Fall of the Samurai was a standalone expansion, which seems to have generated its own DLC. So Shogun 2 collection contains Shogun 2+its DLC while Fall of The Samurai collection contains Fall Of The Samurai +its DLC.

Thanks. I'm not sure I get it: standalone expansion as in you don't need the original game to play it?

Edit: Ok. I got it with all the answers. Thanks everyone.

Fall of the Samurai is a Stand-Alone Addon for Shogun 2. You won't need Shogun 2 for it. Also I'm pretty sure that the Shogun titels are Steamworks.

Both look to be Steam as they both say "Steam version" at the top.

Difference between both collections: Fall of the Samurai is a standalone expansion to Shogun 2, but comes with its own DLC. If you want Shogun 2, the main game in the series, get the Shogun 2 Collection.

I got the Grand Master Collection for $33 off from GreenManGaming, not too long ago. They dropped the prices for all their Total War stuff down to the normal 75% off price, then allowed their 20% off coupon to be used. That deal will probably return sooner or later. This is a good one and is at the normal 75% off pricing that you see all over.

From what I know fall of the samurai is a standalone expansion to shogun 2, so you don't need shogun 2 in order to play it but it is kind of an expansion? Idk don't shoot me if I'm wrong
