Hi guys.

I have an old laptop (15.4" HP 6730s) and lately my mom start using it on a daily basis.
And since I noticed the laptop is a little too hot after a few hours of use I decided to buy a cooling stand. Nothing too fancy or expensive.

So I start digging a little and I found these:
Microsoft Notebook Cooling Base
Chieftec COOLER PAD // CPD-1216
Thermaltake Cooler Massive 14 X
DeepCool N200

Basically I am looking for something capable of reducing the temperature by at least 5 Celsius degrees and to keep the laptop stable on it.
I noticed the 4 models listed above are the best rated low budget cooling stands around here but I want some opinion on this.

My mom usually uses the laptop for movies, music & Internet, no games.

I'm opened to other suggestions.

Did you clean the fans of the laptop? imho this is far more effective

I'm using one of these for my laptop whilst gaming and working.

When working, the bottom of the laptop is actually cold compared to room temperature (as is the air flow out of the laptop fans).

After a 2 - 3 hr gaming session, the laptop is warm, to the touch, but not that warm. The space to the left of the laptop (where the charger cable comes in and the laptop fan blows air out) is warm though - but that shows that the fans do their job of shifting the heat away.

Superb cooler stand if you ask me, works a treat and I got it for half price as a student at my local computer store.

EDIT: As 0x said, clean the dust out of the fans on the laptop as well, that'll really help.

Didn't clean it, only used a compressed air can from time to time to remove some of the dust. I had problems trying to disassemble it.
The CPU/HDD are stable at about 45-50 degrees Celsius. It's been like this since I got it. The problem is the bottom it's getting too hot especially if you use it in bed.
Also, I was looking for that model too but I wasn't able to find it in any store.
