That's why i never even get to finish most of my games... As an example i started playing Tomb Raider a long time ago and i can't finish it.

Whenever i get excited about playing it,i hover the mouse over it in my library,i imagine me playing it and i'm thinking "meeh..i don't really feel like it"

Do you guys experience this? What can i do to make this go away ? Because i really want to finish those games

Edit: Thank you all for all your sharing and suggestions! Weirdly reading your comments made me want to play a game so i'll hop right on. I guess many of us experience that at some point or another. Thank you! I'm not gonna close the thread yet because i'm still curious about other answers

And I will wait for GTA V PC. Still playing IV, but just driving around without missions, so it's just don't count to this topic.

I get this feel only in singleplayer, multiplayer often works fine for a longer periode of time - I would like to go on in the story of Bioshock but in a way the gameplay exspecially in fights annoy me so I couldnt go on for a while...

-My solution is online multiplayer and coop with friends or indie-games, they are too short to get you really bored

I got this problem after I got an illness that made me in pain 24/7 and unable to leave my home for 7 years. Gaming was no longer my escape that I was excited to do after coming home, but rather one of the only things I could do. Even if you don't have an illness but don't go out much or have other hobbies, I'm guessing a lot of people get in the rut of "having" to play video games because it's the only thing to do.

I'd recommend playing games less and trying to get out or do other things so you have that want to come home, play games and chill. I also know that because I'm stuck in my house I'm lonely, so I tend to want to watch people play video games on youtube, twitch etc. rather than playing them myself. Before when I had friends to play games with or go out with I didn't do this nearly as much.
Idk just my take on it, good luck having fun with gaming again hope you figure something out to have that spark again. :)

Same here,
I bought literally tons of games in the last 2 months (even the PSVita with all those sweet ass weeabo's title) but whenever i touch the pad/keyboard/handheld console i just feel instantly bored, it's a course

And it's not some ''middle age gaming crisis'', definitely

When I feel like that, I usually play something fairly mindless for awhile. Like Bejeweled, Aqua Kitty Milk Mine Defender, some kind of simple tower defense type game or a sim game.

But sometimes you just need a gaming break. Take a few days off and grab a book, catch up on tv/movies, plan a day trip, etc. Hope it works out for you :)

Yeah, it happens too often to me as well. So many unfinished, or even unstarted games that I originally wanted to complete little time after purchase.

Maybe video games aren't your thing. I don't understand why anyone would force himself to play, there are so many other things to do. It's like everyone thinks he is a geek so he must play video games and enjoy the lord of the rings. Fuck LOTR

Ah, the burden of choice. I have this issue when I fire up Netflix and have a hundred things in my Queue. I always end up not feeling in the mood for any of them and just add more things to my queue for a later date. Sometimes you just gotta get one started and let the "want to" come as you're playing.

I have something similar, but worse. Whenever I'm bored, have nothing to do and it's good time to play a game, I just don't know what to play since most games bore me even more than I am already bored at the time. So I usually end up watching a stream / anime or I start up a game and close it within 10 minutes, because I get tired of it immediately. Though that might be just me being a lazy motherfucker. The worst thing is, that I'd rather do something else, but there's literally nothing fun for me to do, I get bored by everything instantly.
Sooo... if you actually have something to do besides playing games, do that. Whatever it is, it's probably more worthy of your time than playing video games. It's not a crime for gamer to not be interested in playing games at a time, just do something else and the longer you don't play any game, the more you will enjoy the next game you will play.
