It's obvious by the lack of quality bundles / no bundles at all / no restock of keys, that Humble is dying.

Why that is it's anyone's guess. The signs point to something happening very soon. It was the same with Groupees.

Do you think Humble Bundle will make it 'till the end of the year?

They will survive... They still have CHOICE and a regular retail STORE. When games go on sale and you tack on the 20% choice discount, most often times they are cheaper than STEAM or FANATICAL.

You still think people will continue to re sub if EA keys keep being added?

I do think so, if value of the games without EA keys is worth more than bundle bought with a coupon.

Groupees is a ridiculous simile on multiple levels.

What signs are you talking about?

They'll probably last until the end of the year, their demise seems to be coming but I think it's gonna be slower than that, and there's always the possibility that they just get sold to someone else before completely collapsing.

What signs? A fairly unbroken streak of excellent bundles filled with a lot of cool games at a heavily discounted rate? The horror. The horror, the horror.

Is this gentle weeping at the inclusion of EA keys? Ubi keys? Maybe GoG keys in the future? Rockstar keys? Because that crying over the venue of a game has always been pretty absurd.

Or is it the industry shift towards timed keys, which has been written on the walls for several years now?

You clearly haven’t bought any bundles only to find you can’t activate one of the keys due to it being out of stock straight after purchase.

That's true. I've never bought a bundle and had keys immediately out of stock. They've always been tried and true for me. I've been buying Humble bundles since July 2013.

As far as what you specifically have implied, while I'm not blind to the issues Humble has, I'd say they are being completely overstated as a byproduct and reaction to older keys expiring for a number of reasons. You are buying keys to licenses to games that have DRM. I'm not sure the expectation that keys have a forever shelf life is in any way realistic when the games they activate licenses to currently don't have that sort of guarantee (outside of GoG anyway).

The overselling of current or recent bundles, while demonstrative of some level of incompetence, always seems to be remedied outside of outliers such as a developer being banned from Steam and their game being completely shut down there. Domina comes to mind.

But no, it's not been an issue in my bundle purchasing. I reveal everything when I purchase the bundle, and that system works immaculately for me.

No, I’m talking from personal experience to bundles I’ve recently purchased and keys have been unavailable.
I’m not attacking you, I’m just saying, for someone like you or me, who have been buying since the early Humble indie Bundles, this is the first time where I’ve bought more than one different bundle in the last few months and keys have been unavailable (one was a humble choice bundle, the other a normal game bundle).
One of the reasons I chucked my humble keys into a train recently is cos I don’t trust humble anymore. It hurts to think that the most reliable bundle site is now NOT the most trustworthy site.I may still buy the occasional bundle of them, and I’m stuck with choice for a few months but after that I’m not sure.

Do I think there are a lot of quality games in there? Of course. Do I already own most of them? Of course. Not every bundle is required to cater to my personal interests or be built around what I already own in order to be considered a good bundle. The beauty of things is we can decide if a bundle is of interest to us without being angry if it isn't.

The point I was making is people are saying it's bad and if too many people say that and don't buy then they do not get the money

"People" say everything is bad. That logic on its own doesn't stand up. You could see Elden Ring in an $8 Humble Choice and "people" would still say it's too expensive or the bundle sucks. "It didn't come with the DLC. Wurst bundle evah". Lol

Apparently at least 688 people thought so. I bet they lack your emotional investment in hating Humble though. Most likely, they just want to enjoy some cool bundled games. As it should be.

Oh and when did I post on every Humble thread? I can't remember doing so but I guess you just have a better memory than me - Even if I did post on the Humble threads (which last I checked is allowed) I wouldn't post about boring repasts (and in this case we are not talking 1 or 2 times but 5+ minimum and increase in prices of some of those games from past bundles) I wouldn't have to say the bundle is bad (like many others have as well) if it wasn't

What are you even going on about? Everyone is saying how bad that bundle is and choices yet you still defend them and only call me out? So fair right? Your just pissed because your favourite company is going down the toilet and you can't admit it like everyone else there is even threads made by another person asking this - If you think I am picking on Humble unfairly then I guess you have been under rock

So blame me for saying bad things rather than them taking people's money and not fill product orders

I'm not seeing where I'm angry. You're personalizing this too much. Much like everything having to do with bundles in general. Maybe bundle life isn't the life for you. It does seem to cause you an inordinate amount of stress and in general brings out the worst in some of our more obsessive members.

For my part, there was a time when the Humble bundle selections were largely games I owned or didn't have interest in. You know what I did in response? I didn't buy the bundles. Now, there's less crossover with my library and more crossover with my wishlist. So, I buy their bundles more often as a result. And if there's nothing of interest to me in a bundle now, I use my old method of not buying the bundle. It's a simple bundle life, but I like it.

Question: what was the last video game you played?

What signs would that be? Two EA keys in a month? No GOTY edition of Heretic Prophet yet?

SteamGifts is kind of an echo chamber and if you spend too much time here your perception gets distorted... A buddy of mine who is a slightly more casual gamer considered 15% off Veilguard an amazing deal.

I think Humble will be fine for a couple more years although Publishers are definitely realizing bundle buyers are not the opinion makers and brand ambassadors they were hoping we'd be 😅

It was definitely strange to see not a single bundle for sale. It's happened twice in just the last week or three, right? I've never seen that before, and I've been keen on HB for a while now. Their latest (and only) game bundle right now is also the most rebundled I've ever seen from them, and don't get me started on the key restock situation. To say there's been a rough patch would be an understatement. I can understand why some consumers are nervous.

Having said all that, none of us know what's happening behind the scenes. Maybe next month everything will go back to normal. Maybe everything is fucked and we're witnessing the beginning of the end. Time will tell.

I think that they will stop offering bundles before long. The store will endure for a lot longer. Maybe they will come up with a new formula in order to extract more money from customers, who knows?

We are the minority. We see previously bundled and given away for free and games not worth playing, other people just see:

I think they will just get sold again! It's a really smart formula they are doing but the current owners have bad rep. No need to shut the whole thing down, they will probably re-sell it!

Yes, I have no doubt it will still be around a year from now, don't forget it's still a popular digital store selling regular games, bundles are an important part of their business, but not the whole of it.

Having said this, the future is looking uncertain, the golden age of bundles is behind us, it's rapdily dying as a business model, it was fun while it lasted, but it's no longer viable, not in an age when triple A new games are priced between $70/$80 and even more for deluxe editions. Inflation, rising costs, a difficult economic environment, grey markets, resellers and traders all contributed to its demise, region locked and expiring keys are another unwanted side effect.
