I can relate. When I was a kid I used a glass pot to heat up something on the stove once because it was the only one clean. I'd used metal ones before that had insulated handles and I picked up the glass one by the handle not even thinking that it would be hot. My hand immediately blistered and hurt like hell for a while.

That's why I still double-fist my old pair of potholders instead of using my new oven mitt. Watching out for the backs of my exposed hands is better than worrying about, say, dropping something from the loss of dexterity in the mitt and instinctively trying to stop the fall with my bare hand.

Those are some of the worst 'she said' references I've seen.
Hopefully she also said 'hope you heal well'.
In any case, aloe is the absolute best thing for burns.
If you can't get any easily, cool water works reasonably well- just hold your hand in or under cool water until the pain lessens.
Do not, however, apply cold (especially ice) to burns, that causes more nerve damage and amplifies the pain.

thats what she....said? i need to stop, ive never been good at these, whoops.
No idea why I didn't think of aloe, we got that crap all over. Ended up putting a medicated burn pad on it, which didnt help as much as i'd hoped but did help some. At least now I can actually move my fingers and stuff.

I think i've had one before, but its been years since i last went to pizza hut. dominos started making some that are pretty good, but i can only handle them every once in awhile because they're mostly grease. its why i wanted to try making one myself, so it'd be all the taste without the grease. except for the hand thing, it all worked out. ^^;

Nice, I think pan pizza is my favorite. At least that is all I ever get from pizza hut now. Try Blue Moon pizza too if they are in your area. They are like California Kitchen Pizza. All of their pizza that I have tried have all been good so far. But home made pizza is always good too.

I am so sorry for your loss... of dexterity. :o/
If that can make you feel better (it won't), I have a very noticeable 3 inch long scar on my upper arm. I did that last summer.
I was ironing.
It was a very ouch-y and shameful experience.
I AM NOT TO BE TRUSTED WITH HOT STUFF! ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

i am in a lot of owch. i was making a pan pizza (never made one before) and went and grabbed the fresh-out-of-the-oven pan without an oven mitt. i just wasnt thinkin, cuz im not used to having pans in ovens (which is of course what she said) and didnt even think that the handle would be hot (again that is what she said). so now my hand is all wrapped up and im sitting here, trying not to cry or scream even though it JUST HURTS THAT MUCH because i dont wanna scare my nieces who are currently visiting. and best part is, the hand i burnt is my dominant hand. so doing stuff like, i dunno, TYPING....is even more diffiicult.
...but hey, at least the pizza was good.
anyway, heres a giveaway for moorhuhn. one entry = one sympathy point, because im a sympathy ho.
