as much as I agree that I like Bethesda, they are moneymilkers on people who buy preorders or before all DLCs come out. Because sometimes even one DLC is close to more expensive than whole GOTY, which is rubbish move.

True, but at least they don't create games that need a whole server to run them.

Assassin's Creed Unity, I'm looking at You.

yeah along with Watch Dogs with first signs of struggle, these are games that need few years before we can run it :D I guess they found time machine, because it feels like they are stealing their own games from future.

The company that started the paid mods thing, the company that is re-releasing the same game for 15 years even more chopped up than ever, the company that made the horse armour paid DLC, the company that scammed a sub-scontractor out of their money based on some arbitrary criteria as metacritic score, the company that is literally saying "this region won't get the game like the other ones because we say so", the company that can sit on a game for five years but cuts development time in half for others to reduce costs? And you say the others are moneymilkers?

It's okay to like Bethesda. But implying they are not the same money-grabbers as most other large game publishers is very naive at best.

And here I thought it was a thread about them having a gaming competition with each company's staff representing them in a tournament where they compete with both company's library of titles.

By the first 3 prince of Persia games are we talking the ACTUAL first 3 or the more recent 3d games? Because the first prince of Persia game is over 20 years old...

ultimately i think ubisoft, because they've shown that in amongst the mass franchising they do, they still occasionally manage to put out something really amazing and/or creative every now and then. I don't hate EA, but i just think theres more creativity at ubi...

I don't like the exclusivity of EA, and Ubisoft support was pretty good and fast for me so far. Besides Ubi gives nice discounts. Other than occassional Humble Origin Bundle, I'm not an EA fan.

you prefer EA because you like Sims? And are you aware that te EA you prefer just kiled the developer behind the Sims you like recently? And are likely to kill studio that created DeadSpace as well, because of shitty sales of BF Hardline?

I had sims 1 & 2 & 3 pirated, that was before I knew legit and stuff, before I had internet, but now it's full of DLCs and crap, but they also killed Dead Space :/

so I don't understand your reasoning behind picking EA. It's a company that killed the studios that make games you like, killed the franchises you like or turned them into shit, and you still say you like them, because before killing them they published few good games in the series?

Didn't bought anything from EA since... can't remember. Bought some Ubisoft-related games (Call of Juarez: Gunslinger was published by Ubisoft, want to grab South Park, also published by Ubisoft, and there's Valiant Hearts I need to start one day).

I guess I prefer Ubisoft then - even through they milk AssCreeds and copy-paste it to other games (Far Cry 3, Watch Dogs - they all have AssCreed mechanics/elements), sometimes they get involved with real gems.

Neither because UbiSoft uses uplay DRM crap even when their game is on Steam DRM and EA locked some of their game series that were not finished to origin only and had policies at one point that if you got banned for what ever reason in the forums you lost access to all your paid for games with that account. Thats slightly changed, now you only loose multiplayer access, which I still don't agree with.

I don't like them that much because to play the recent EA games you have to use Origin which i don't use and to play any Ubisoft game you have to run Uplay along with Steam which is annoying.

Ubisoft would be much better off killing their "Uplay" DRM, its a pain to use, and unnecessary.

EA. They at least accept the fact they are a company and they release similar products each year. They also have a good customer support and many local offices to show they want to be closer to the customer.
UbiSoft, while had great titles released and sponsored in the early 2000s up to about 2008 or so, is nowadays releasing the same stuff over and over, more broken than before, yet they maintain that the problem is always at the customer's end. Also, don't forget the "dumb down graphics performance somewhat to make our larger buyer look better" fiasco of Watch_Dogs. Or the fact that they were almost the only ones ever using Tagés, a DRM system so utterly broken that even people who purchased the games needed to pirate a copy to even start it.

While UbiSoft creatively used to be one of the greatest publishers in the early XXI century, now they are massively overshadowed by pretty much all other large competitors, including EA.

I haven't had many issues with Ubisoft games. On any platform. Maybe the issue actually is on your end and it's time to upgrade the toaster.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Partly that is true (I'm running a 4-yo rig), but these issues were much older than that. The Tagés plagued the gaming community ten years ago and up. I couldn't play any disk version of UbiSoft games on any of my PCs until I finally got them on GOG and their DRM-free online installers.

EA game are pretty fun, but they're overpriced and only half a game being released, another half is being added as DLC, so 100€ or more for a game is a no for me. Ubishit has it's udontplay service and releasing 3 assassins creed/year or maybe now it's 4? I've lost the count. Ubishit games are usually mediocre with some exceptions and overpriced too.
So which do i prefer? They both sucks but at least you can get ubishit game on steam.

Ubisoft is company that is...made some terrible games like Far Cry 4 and Unity. And A mighty quest for epic loot which WAS good, but Ubi decided to make it P2W. Thats right, the Ubisoft likes doing those bad things yet sell them and being rude overall.
EA is...company that strives to be the richest and best while also destroying companies with potential. Yes,this company tries to rule everything.
The result? Both companies have bad traits.

At least Ubisoft doesn't release 100+ DLCs that are sometimes worth more than the original game...
"Ubisoft is milking AC and Farcry though :@"
Well, yes ._. as long as people are buying them, they're going to keep making them...
Just don't judge an entire company like Ubisoft for one. single. release.
EA used to be way better before. It's shit now.
Battlefield: Hardline? Really?
Sims 4? oh, it's like Sims 3 but with cooler DLCs!
Does that mean that Ubisoft never made mistakes? No, of-course they did. They obviously shouldn't have released Unity like that, but it happened.
Ubisoft for life :@ #DieHardUbisoftFan
