I am really interested in Transistor and a lot of my friends have played/beaten it. I played through Bastion and I liked it. I'm also pretty interested in Rust and a lot of my friends also have it. My computer is not the best in the world (pretty shit actually) so please keep that in mind. Thanks in advance!

Haven't played either, but I heard Transistor is a spiritual successor to Bastion, so you might enjoy that.

Transistor. Would you rather have a finished game or a game that isn't going to be finished for a year or two? Also keep in mind that there are a lot of hackers in Rust and the updates have been slow.

Transistor.

Wait until Rust is finished before you bother imo. No point in buying an incomplete game for $20 when there are tons of polished, finished products for sale for that price or less (often much less).

Agree.
Also, buying early access game on steam doesn't mean that it will be finished, ever.
If you are set on owning both games in near future I would recommend Transistor first.

Rust if you do have friends to play with. Transistor is SP so you can wait for it to be in a bundle.

Rust won't be bundled? Why is this? I mean eventually I can see it bundled.

If you have friends that you want to play with in rust, then you want it asap to join them isn't?
2nd, transistor's devs has a previous history of putting their game in a bundle. Facepunch hasn't.

Garry's Mod was bundled. Your argument is invalid

I missed it then. Still I'd rather buy a multiplayer game now than wait for a bundle where there are less people playing it

Garry's Mod is a 8 year old game and was bundled after 7 or 8 years LOL

Garry's mod was in a Humble I think?

Rust was in HumbleBundle's Yogscast Dwarven Dairy Drive, Garry's Mod was also in that bundle.

Just in case there's any people don't feel like googling anything

From what I've seen from other people's footage, Transistor is a better product, obviously finished and with a lot of care put into it. As always, best course of action is: get more information, find reviewers/critics/players you trust, see what they think, look at some game footage yourself and decide what suits you best.

I would go with Rust, even though it isn't really a finished product I feel it has more re-playability to it especially with friends... I was convinced about this after watching UberHaxorNova play Rust (YouTube; you can watch it if you want to have a better idea of Rust)

Don't even think of buying rust unless you have a fetish of being killed by stone-wielding naked men.

Are you serious? Transistor is the obvious answer. I just finished it and it's marvelous. 9.5/10.

Transistor was a fantastic game, but sadly, it's short. You'll spend a quality 5 hours with it, maybe 8 or 9 if you try to do all the challenges.

Transistor. Rust looks like the type of game you REALLY want a good computer for.

Or play games from your backlog that you've never touched and wait to get both of these games at 50-75% off :)

No real need to buy either game at full price.

"My computer is not the best in the world (pretty shit actually)"

If it's really bad, don't play Rust. Rust is badly optimized at the moment and even my pc can't stay at 60FPS all the time.

If your computer can handle it, buy it and play with your friends. (You might want to ask if one of your friends would try Rust on your computer before buying)

Transistor? Meh.... Not even interested:(

Transistor all the way. Shortish (took me about 7 hours on the first run while doing everything) with Recursion mode that adds more time (basically New Game + with upscaled encouters). Great art and delicious soundtrack.
